Review: I was looking for a live in nanny, who can stay with us and take care of a month old baby for at least a year. One of my requirement was the person needed to be available for at least a year. I have made this clear to this agency. Yet, they found a nanny for me knowing that the person already had another contract with a different family starting in 3 weeks. This agency withhold this crucial information from me just so they can earn an extra commission.The agency deceived me by sending the nanny to my house and not performing any house work.We were cheated out of $700 and got nothing in exchange.Desired Settlement: Receive $700 back from this agency.

Response:
Dear [redacted];
Based upon a phone call we had with you regarding the above referenced consumer concern, we have drafted the following response. Thank you in advance for your assistance in helping us update your records as to this.
RESPONSE
In response to [redacted]’s comments as to his recent experience with Nusantara Employment Agency in his search for a live-in nanny, please note the following;
· On August [redacted], I spoke with [redacted] on the phone as to his requirements for a nanny and we arranged for him to interview a candidate on September [redacted]. Based upon this interview, [redacted] selected a nanny from this agency to start her assignment as of that day.
· The nanny would be responsible for the 24 hour care of a one month old baby.
· The nanny would be paid $70 per day effective immediately.
· It is important to note that live in nannies, as well as nannies in general are considered to be “employees at will” and do not sign or enter into a contract with their employers. At any time the employer can dismiss the nanny. The nanny can also choose to end the engagement at any time. In addition, no contract is entered into between the agency and the nanny’s employer and any employment agency fees are paid by the nanny and not the employer.
· After 10 days, the nanny terminated her employment with [redacted]. The nanny indicated to me that her services were no longer required and was dissatisfied with the substantially below market daily rate of $70 per day.
[redacted]’s claim for $700 appears to be for the 10 days ($70 day for 10 days) of the nanny’s services he received before she left his employ. If [redacted] was unhappy with the services provided by the nanny while in his employ at his home, he should have discussed it directly with the nanny to resolve it to his satisfaction or dismissed her. [redacted] was free to terminate her employment at any time. In addition, [redacted] did not during this period nor at any time afterwards communicate with this agency his dissatisfaction with the nanny’s services.
[redacted] received services at the agreed upon daily rate for the period of the nanny’s “at will employment” and paid this directly to the nanny. He did not incur any employment agency fees.
Although a monetary settlement is not warranted given the above, Nusantara Employment Agency is willing to provide reasonable support to [redacted] and his family should they desire to find a new nanny.
END OF RESPONSE
Again, thank you.
