We received a quote from NTB renovation (Nick Blake) Owner to finish our Basement . We had 2 meetings with Nick so he can do measuring and costing. Nick asked for 10 % down payment so he can hold us a spot. We wrote him a check of $4000.
that he sated that it was fully refundable since he didn't do any work. Nick then insisted that he wants an additional 40% before he can order material and start the job. Although initially he said that we can order the material directly and have it delivered to our home and pay him for labor separately. I checked with the neighbors and they said they did not pay him 40% upfront. He tried to negotiate for more money and changed his pricing . He insisted that we sign his contract but we didn’t. I told him I was uncomfortable to move forward with anything and asked that he returns our 10% as he didn’t do any work nor that we signed an agreement. He refused. Nick Blake took $4000 from us and did no work nor provided any thing in return of the money. In addition we signed NO contracts. We are seeking your assistance in gaining our money and cautioning the public of his cheating practices.
T his complaint is related to another complaint from Lous brother Wael Abukamil. The brothers fully agreed for my company to finish both of their basements. They both signed checks over to obtain 5 weeks on my schefule that I told them was not refundable. We all shook hands and set a start date. Lous accusations of me trying to change my pricing are totally inaccurate. In fact I did whatever I could to make the job work but lou and his brother Wael were trying to get me to lower my labor prices and continue to add more work and higher end finishes to the job. Lou also stating that other customers in his sub division saying they did not deposit with me is totally inaccurate also. I spoke with every homeowner in that sub division today and they all agreed that they would vouch for my honesty and anything else that would be needed. Lou is just lieing and trying to make me look like a crook because I wouldn't give him his $60,000 basement for $40,000. I have never had an issue with any client before and requesting a material deposit is standard practice. Lou is out of line and if this slander towards myself and my company continues I will take legal action to prove my innocence.

Nick Blake was trying to take advantage of us and our trust in him. He kept asking for additional 40% in addition to the 10% money we gave him upfront before even starting the job. When I contacted the neighbors they stated that they never did that. That's when I asked to put a stop to this and return the money. He had every intention to take more money and run.
Here are the facts :
1- We Never signed any contracts with NTB renovation
2- NTB took $4000 with the claim this holds a spot on his calendar . And Never delivered any service of any kind and still insisted on more money upfront.
3- Based on our discussion with our attorney Nick Blake broke the law and violated every form of business transaction including criminal charges that may face by taking money and running away.
4- Using deceiving tactics and Not sticking to the facts .
We demand that he returns the $4000 hold money before legal action is taken against him and his company .
