I spoke to the owner back and forth for about a month deciding if I wanted to send them my headlights to paint the housing black and remove the amber lights that come with the factory lights. I sent them a payment and had a shop in toronto send my headlights out to them (the box was secured, I saw the surveillance footage showing the employee wrap them very well). They received my brand new headlights with less than 2000km on them and failed to report any damages the product received. Ryan (owner) told me that it would take 3 days to complete, it ended up taking 3 weeks to get them back. a week into waiting, he then told me a piece was damaged from shipping after telling me they had them being worked on and painted (why was this not reported to the shipping company from the beginning?) another week went by as he said they needed to order a special part from germany and it took longer to come in than normal. they then sent the finished product back to me after 3 weeks, no report sent in, nothing. I got the product back at *** (the original shop I do all my car's work at) and they called me right away telling me that these headlights are not mine and look horrible (they glass was foggy and dirty, it had over spray from the paint on it, the bulbs were scratched up somehow even though Novo said they didnt touch the bulb, they sealing job was absolutely terrible and looked like a 3rd grader did it for their arts and crafts project, there was chips on the lights. *** asked me if I wanted to polish them and coat them to see if that would help (another $250 fee) and I said to do it if it would help; it did not help at all. There is also blue goo/glue/gunk all around the headlight and visible inside the headlight and the amber reflector piece was just pushed down to be hidden and is still visible. *** told me these are 100% not my original headlights even if they were painted and looked like they were aftermarket and used headlights and I should call them to get my original headlights back because that work is atrocious. I picked up my car on a rainy day as well and the headlights were instantly fogged up and have been all through summer (my car is currently stored for winter and I was not able to drive it during any kind of rain). My highbeams also do not work and everytime I try to use them I get a voltage code which is apparently really bad from a tech rep I spoke with and need to be replaced. this has cost me far too much effort and time and money and the last messages I sent to the company were never answered. I recently had some friends tell me about the Revdex.com to report the incident or seek legal advise as these headlights are not cheap and I was scammed and frauded and to take legal action and report them so I wanted to start with getting this report done here. I also reported them on the scam side of the Revdex.com.
First off, we received the one headlight damaged where it was scraped up in the box with shipping damage. FACT. We sent pictures of all this to the customer mid last year. Besides that, we refunded the total cost this customer paid in its entirety as well when he disputed the charges we didn't fight them and accepted the refund. We have been in business for over 8 years and barely have a single complaint - so to say anything was a scam is ridiculous. We offered MULTIPLE times to replace the headlights with BRAND NEW Valeo (the company who manufactures the exact headlights for *** units if he would ship the original so called "damaged" headlights back to us so we could fix and re-sell them. He originally agreed on that and then his father said no a day later. Regardless of whether the customer was unhappy with the headlights or not, we also warranty against any defect and instructed him to send them back to fix any issues or concerns for a 100% satisfaction guarantee - in which that also wasn't good enough for this customer. He only wanted one thing - to go to his dealer and purchase new headlights through Audi with all new components. Audi doesn't even sell the headlights complete, you have to purchase the control modules separate. We offered this guy everything under the sun to fix the issue and nothing besides sending him a check for $4000 was good enough. Never in 8 years have we had such a rude, pain in the butt, golden spooned customer whose father makes all his decisions. Keep in mind also that this was mid-last year and all of a sudden now almost 10 months later this guy is writing complaints?! Come on. This issue has already been dealt with, your complaint falls on death ears bud. Now that we have refunded him theres nothing we are willing to do. We already offered to fix any concerns and even purchase new headlights for him shipped to his door. Best of luck
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter. Type your reasons here.]
I will start off by saying I had multiple friends from the USA tell me to contact Revdex.com regarding my headlights as I was warning a bunch of them to not conduct business with this company as they were looking at getting work done (judging from the pictures above, these are no longer brand new 2000km Audi rs3 headlights, they are re-furbished, used old ones and I have had multiple professionals tell me the same thing).
They are lying about the pictures of the damage as it was never told to me until a week later when I did not receive any headlights back and then when asked, they told me a part was damaged and that is why it is taking so long (I have the entire conversation saved and would be happy to bring it up again, no need to lie).
Yes I submitted a claim to visa after I did not get a response to my multiple direct messages sent to their instagram and got ignored for months, so I had visa refund me for the labour I paid (which again is an embarrassment for a company who has been around for 8 years, my 3 year old cousin could construct better work).
Also, lets take in that they wanted me to re-ship my headlights to them for them to send me new valeos so THEY COULD SELL MY TERRIBLE BROKEN ONES to some other unsuspecting customer. If that doesn't show the amount of shady business practice conducted by this company, I don't know what will. My father also happens to be well established in the industry and takes pride in our car collections so for him to see this terrible job done to my car, he was complete unimpressed and I'm going to listen to his opinion on things related to cars, no need to attack him for helping his son but again, terrible business practice calling clients "golden spooned who's father makes all his decisions".
I understand the warranty for a year with defective product but they literally cemented my headlights shut and guaranteed no water moisture and the first day I picked it up, it pooled inside the headlight. And again, multiple people told me these are no longer my headlights and I was scammed out of my brand new headlights for used ones and that they are sorry this happened to me but are happy I am warning others against sending them their headlights. I received a quote from Audi for about $5000 Canadian for brand new headlights plug and play with all internals included as my headlights are completely messed up now and I have codes being thrown at me every time I turn my high beams on.
to top all this off, my car sat outside at *** for a month waiting for them to send me my lights and I had to pay for storage + shipping + work to remove the bumper and install the lights (I do not have the tools at home and was having other work done on my car at the time, so it worked out best) and now I can no longer drive my car in the rain or when its humid as it fogs up the lights and is considered a safety hazard. I understand this happened in June of 2019, but I was dealing with a lot of family issues and my car was the least of my concerns at the time + it gets stored in September. I only recently had friends tell me to file complaints as I made a post on instagram/Facebook/audizine warning others of my issue. ***) and have had multiple people reach out to message me asking who did this as I didn't want to publicly humiliate this company for this lack-lustre job.
I am the furthest from rude, nor do I consider myself a "pain in the butt" (again, look how this company treats its customers). I have been in retail work since I was 16 years old and I consider myself a hard working, honest person who expects the same treatment given back to me, but to personally attack a customer who will be a walking advertisement for you, who has paid you for your "professional" work, that just goes to show the kind of character this business operates under. My experience in the past when businesses were wrong and I approached them properly was to own up to their errors and correct it, similar to how I did whenever I caused a headache or problem for any of my clients. I never attacked them personally and insulted them and told them they are the problem, I would see it from their perspective. I spent hours of time organizing and stressing out over expensive headlights I trusted strangers with and asked a lot of questions, and this is the experience I went through. I have a full write up from *** that was submitted to visa for their records and I will be happy to provide it here as well.
I hope this business learns from this mistake for the future and either stop scamming their clients and can own up to their errors or at least stop attacking them personally. I have shown all the members in the multiple car groups I am in and they will be relaying the information to anyone they know who is thinking of doing similar work to their cars. I even reached out to one their other clients who had his rs3 headlights done and he told me his fog up all the time and he had multiple issues with it as well so I know I am not alone in this, I just feel no one else had the energy or care to take it this far and I have because if you're operating a business, be honest about your work. And if you are not, something should be done about it.
Best of luck.
Regards
I have to say I was disappointed with this company. I was spending more time in my home office, and needed help with my lighting. Ryan did come over and look at it, which honestly is more than I could get from anyone else so I do have to give him credit for that. He sent me 3 suggestions, and I chose a floor lamp because the info he sent on it indicated it was a dimmable light. When it arrived I picked it up, and brought it home. Then found out that it was not the one he had sent me the info on. He tried to say that info was from an older model, but if it was then he should have sent me the info on the one I was buying or said it was not dimmable etc. I go by the info that is sent to me when I'm buying something, and I don't appreciate someone trying to tell me that I didn't read the info correctly. I'm going somewhere else to buy any other lights I may need in the future. I wish I could recommend them but I can't.
