Review: I took out a payday loan and made every payment on time. I was told by a Northstar employee that if you do not bring in your payment by 5pm the date is is due, they will automatically deduct it from your checking account the next day. On 03/06/14, I made 2 payments in person totaling $300. The first payment was for $200 and the second for $100. When I left, I owed $103.39 (final payment) and assumed it would be deducted from from next pay check on 03/20/14. On 04/17/14, Northstar Loans deducted $113.64.51 from my checking account. I was very upset about it and called to speak to the manager on 04/17/14. The manager informed me that since I made a lump sum payment on 03/06/14, that my next due date skipped ahead 3 paydates AND that I still owed $52.51. I asked the manager why the last payment of $103.39 wasn't taken out of my next check (again - which would have been 03/20/14). The manager stated that I should have told them to deduct it from my account on my next paydate. I told the manager that the teller did not inform me that my due date would skip 3 paychecks otherwise I certainly would have told them to deduct the LAST payment , and the manager stated that my due date was also on my receipt (which I could not find at the time). I found the receipts a few days later and there is NO DUE DATE on the receipt or anything that would indicate that my next payment date was on 04/16/14. I took the receipts to Nortstar Loans on 04/22/14 and spoke to the manager to inform/show her that (1) there was no due date on the receipt and (2) the teller did not inform me that since I made a lump sum payment, that my due date would skip ahead 3 paychecks. HAD I KNOWN, I obviously would have told them to deduct the money. The manager apologized and I made the final payment of $52.51 I strongly believe that the teller who processed my transaction had an obligation to tell me that my due date changed in addition to the fact the the receipt did not have a next due date listed either. I feel cheated out of $62.76Desired Settlement: $62.76

Response:
I am replying to your Revdex.com complaint #[redacted]. After
reviewing the complaint description and your account, you will be refunded
$62.76 (check enclosed).
The $300.00 payment in question was applied first to
interest, and then to the principal, leaving your balance after this payment of
$103.39. The difference between this balance and the amount of your final
payoff is the $62.76 you wish to be refunded.
I understand your confusion about the due date and apologize
for your inconvenience in not being able to resolve your issue with the local
manager.
If you choose to borrow with us again, bring this letter
with you and you will receive your loan at 50% off our regular loan APR.
Sincerely,
District Manager
