Northern VA. Glass

I live in an old house with some structural deficits. Because I also live alone, having a back door that doesn't close and is broken, and a small bedroom window that is hanging by a thread is both unsafe and somewhat unhealthy in cold weather. I received several suggestions from Alexandria Home advisor and interviewed and checked out 4. I chose Northern VA Glass. They wern'e the cheapest, but they seemed to offer a good solution that I could also afford. Michael scheduled a date in the future because he had to order the parts. it is an old house and the measurements aren't routinely available; other services said the same. When the repair date arrived, Michael said they still didn't have the parts. Several other dates came and went. There were actual weather problems. But last Friday he claimed he had a high fever suddenly. When I questioned his honesty he denied any problems. Then he suggested a refund and I said that would be best, since it is about 6 months since we originally agreed to a contract. He had asked for 1/2 the cost up front so he could purchase the materials. I realize now that was probably a mistake. But I am not used to having my home repaired, so I thought it sounded reasonable.

We agreed over the phone and by text that Michael would contact the accountancy department with my request. But I haven't heard back from him. Their name and advertisement are still on the Internet, but I don't believe they exist. But what I asked for was a refund.
