Bought a house with storm damage to the back fence. Sellers contracted with North Smithfield Fence to repair. Said company left a gap in their repair, blamed moved supplies and the seller's realtor, then had the gall to demand a $450 "return visit" to finish the work. To "pop in" the last board of a fence they'd "completely repaired".
The Cedar is a quality fence. The customer service is poor. If you're thinking of buying a fence and get similar prices, go with the competition. Hopefully the customer service will be better. There was a section of fence that was on an angle. The estimator came out and measured it. A couple weeks later, I asked him to come back out to ensure that the measurement was correct. He came out and said "all set". The fence came in and wasn't what was required. After multiple attempts to get the fence fixed, there was no response by North Smithfield Fence. I had to fix it the fence myself. Buyer beware.
Below you will see the correspondence we have had with the [redacted] 's concerning this matter. We have not heard back from them yet concerning this matter and how we can proceed to make things right. As far as my installers are concerned it has come down to a "he said she said" situation. The installers went out aware of the change in styles of fence and knowing that in order to make it work they needed to start at the wooden post near the arbor, [redacted] (the husband ) insisted they start at the house (he is a retired "engineer".)The husband was outside overseeing the installation both days to the point where he was moving and pulling on posts while the men were trying to work, which resulted in some very frustrated installers, who needed to then go back and re-adjust things.I do not want to get into a dispute over the husband actually micro managing and getting the end result the way he instructed. The day after the completion when [redacted] called to complain she insisted that no one was home during the install. We are in a tough spot here and I can not see how it is ok for her to file a complaint when she owes a balance of $2,and will not allow us back on the property to make the necessary adjustments
