Re: ID# [redacted]To Whom It May Concern,This letter is in response to the above complaint filed against North Hills Auto Mall on July 15, 2015.Ms. [redacted] starts out her complaint with saying she was fast talked in to signing over the title to her car to her son, when in fact that's exactly what she...

came to our office to do. She said her son was looking for the trade in value towards his new car and the title needed to be in his name to do so. No one "fast talked" her in to anything she did not want to do.When she called and explained why her paperwork was rejected for no payment, we asked that she send the paperwork back to us to verify and correct the error. Through our investigation we found that the state had lost the checks that were attached to her deal along with another deal. We explained that we had no control over what the state does. When she returned the paperwork to us we replaced the check and her title was processed and mailed to her. The state usually takes 4-6 weeks to process paperwork and she received her title in about 4 weeks. We explained the fees that were being charged in fact we gave a $38.00 discount on our document fee which is now at $113.00. Her son [redacted] paid for the transaction and received the pink slip outlining the state fees and a receipt. The fees that were charged are as foilows:$50.00 Title$36.00 Registration $28.00 Plate Fee $75.00 Document fee (Originally $113.00) $0.70 Postage Grand Total $189.70 ChargedAs you know we strive to maintain an excellent rating with the Revdex.com and we want to thank you for the opportunity to voice our side of this complaint.Sincerely,North Hills Auto Mall

Customer Information: [redacted]ID #[redacted]Dear [redacted] of the Revdex.com,This is in response to the complaint filed against us on 05/24/17 by the above names customer.Ms. [redacted] did buy a 2008 Nissan Altima on 05/20/2017....

She test drove 6 cars that day and decided on the Altima. The first 3 cars that she test drove were one owner vehicles and she didn’t like them.  It was a very busy Saturday and there were several customers in the office. When it was time to sign paperwork, she did ask about the car fax and she was instructed she could go online or on her phone to get it. It was listed on our website.  “As-Is” was marked on the paperwork because North Hills Auto Mall does not provide the warranty through the dealership. She was also told several times about the complimentary warranty we provide through a third party [redacted] in the office. I explained she would be getting a card in the mail and any and all claims would need to go through them. She called us on Monday morning asking about the car fax and said she saw there were 2 owners and she was not happy. I told her we advertise our cars and 1-2 owner trades.   We did not have access to the report anymore since the vehicle was sold, however I did offer to go through the copy she had if she emailed it to us.  She did not respond with an email, but proceeded to continuously call the dealership for a total of 57 times.  After explaining to her for the 6th time there was nothing we could do without seeing the car fax she threatened to come down here and have something done. That is when she was told if she came down here the police would be called. At this time we feel there is nothing more we can do for the customer. Thank you,North Hills Auto Mall

To whom it may concern: We have confirmed that [redacted] has sent out another ID card to her parents address that she used, [redacted], when she purchased the vehicle. Also, we had [redacted] call her to confirm that her warranty was active. We consider this...

matter closed.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. Though I don't agree with their response regarding the fast talking, I don't wish to pursue this any further.  They had me sign over my title before finding out my son did not have the proper paperwork. Had they verified that he didn't have the insurance card necessary prior to signing over the title, I would not have signed the title there. I felt rushed into signing the title thus my belief I was fast talked.I received a phone call from their lawyer when I lodged my complain threatening legal action thus my reason for letting this matter drop.  I would not recommend them to anyone but am not willing to waste any more of my time on this company.
Regards,

To whom it may concern:  Mr. [redacted] has already signed a Settlment agreement and Mutual release and has already agreed to a full refund of $5238.00. Releasor agrees that in the event Releasor breaches this agreement, Releasee will be entitled and Releasor will pay Releasee's costs and attorney's fees in enforcing or vindicating any rights in this agreement in court of law, arbitration or mediation. So at this time we consider the matter closed.

Revdex.com:
The owner of this company took pictures of our home and posted every picture on their FB account.  These pictures included rotting wood from our garage, back wall area and other areas that do not pertain to the leaking area.  They did not request permission to take the pictures and did not request permission to post them on a public social media network for others to view.   We have had two siding companies out to inspect and we are replacing all siding- however, it was confirmed, due to water lines that remained after the leak event, that the lead did come from the window.  Superior caulked around the window when they came two days after the leaking event- we have had several heavy rains since that caulking repair and have had no leaks in our home.  The leak was due to their windows- not do to rotted siding.   We do not appreciate the way they posted pictures of our home on FB.  We simply want repairs made.  That is all we have ever wanted and all that we are asking. Kimberly [redacted]

Our representative, Kelly, met with Mr. [redacted] on 1/30 who signed a work order for windows in his home.
Mr. [redacted] had previously had some of the windows in his home replaced by
another company and advised Kelly he was interested in pricing for the
remaining windows.  Kelly priced Mr....

[redacted]
for the windows he was shown and when the work order was being written for
twenty windows, Mr. [redacted] informed Kelly that five windows needed to be
added.  When the work order was being completed,
Mr. [redacted] wanted all the windows done for $10,500.  Mr. [redacted] also noted on his deposit check that
he was having all twenty five windows replaced.
When the work order and deposit check were turned into the company and
reviewed, Mr. [redacted] was notified that the work order, as written, could not be
accepted and that we would not be depositing his down payment check.  We offered to place the work order on hold
for an installer to re-count and re-measure the windows but Mr. [redacted] expressed
that he wouldn’t accept any changes to the original work order.  I understand Mr. [redacted] is unhappy with our decision;
however, he was notified in a timely manner about the situation and his check
was never deposited.  Mr. [redacted] can check with his banking institution and verify that now, eleven days after the work order was written, his check was never deposited.  At this time there
is no further action that is required as the work order was declined and Mr.
[redacted]’s deposit check was destroyed.Katherine [redacted]

Fished me out of $400 deposit by having me sign a receipt as he kept us focused in a conversation about the vehicle. Receipt read "Non-refundable deposit will hold vehicle for 7 days." (Mind you this was 2 days after I made the deposit). Found a better vehicle somewhere else and called saying I wanted to pick up my deposit. He had said okay and never mentioned it wasn't refundable over the phone with me until we got to the location where he immediately mentioned the non-refundability and then attempted to get me into buying his vehicles again. I will not be recommending this place of business to anyone. It is slimey and deceiving. I have never heard of a place that would not refund your deposit before the 7 days is up.

Review: I purchased a 3 month, 4500 mile warranty with my car from North Hills Auto Mall about 1 month ago. Two weeks after I purchased the car I still had not received the warranty contract in the mail so I called the company (a separate business from the car dealer). They told me they had not received any information from the dealer. In the 2 week span, the check engine light had turned on and I informed the warranty company of this during the call. They told me they couldn't insure the car with a check engine light on and returned the policy to the dealer pending a receipt of repair. 1 week later, I repeatedly called the dealer to notify them of the situation and after a day of making phone calls they eventually returned my calls. I brought the vehicle to the dealer where they reset the computer, did not do any maintenance, but assured me that they would submit the warranty policy information again and I would have the warranty as soon as possible. 1 week later (today) I called the warranty company and they still have not received any information from the dealer. I called the dealer again, to find out why they had not sent the warranty policy information, stating that if they were not able to solve the problem today I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com. They have not responded.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the warranty policy as soon as possible or be refunded the $200.00 that I paid for the warranty.

Review: My son and I had purchased a used 2003 Honda Civic from North Hills Auto Mall on June 15. A couple weeks after we had the car, the clutch broke, and the air conditioning quit. We also noticed that the horn does not work, the high beams do not work, the front door panel is coming off in the inside of the drivers side, and the rear quarter panel of the drivers side is falling off. We also found out that the car and been re-painted and the hinges for the truck were also broken and a temporary fix was holding the truck on the car. I had called North Hills Auto Mall on July 23 and told them everything that was wrong with the car and that the car was basiclly junk and falling apart and I wanted my money back. My son and I paid 6500.00 for this car that was falling apart. I was told my the manager of North Hills Auto Mall that he would discuss this with the owner and get back to me the next day. I did not hear from him and I called back two days later on July 25. He had told me that he couldnt talk and he would call me back. I still have not heard anything from North Hills Auto Mall as of July 30. They will not return my phone calls and are blowing me off. My son spent his life savings on this car and we were sold a car that was junk and falling apart. We want our money back. They are dishonest about the car and scammed us into buying this car.Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund on the car of $6500.00. We will not buy another car from them since they are dishonest and scammed us into buying this car.

Response:

Mrs. [redacted] and her teenage son viewed our large selection of Honda coupes, and after looking, the son picked and wanted the 2003 Honda civic. After explaining to them, that this civic had many, many, after market parts and was souped up like a street racer, header, exhaust, rims, big intake, etc and had damage to the car when they purchased it, front bumper and rear quarter panel. Has per the complaint, the son blow out the clutch in the 2003 civic, only 3 weeks after purchasing it. Because of all the modifications done to the civic, it was sold "as is", but we gave Mrs. [redacted] a warranty with [redacted], she can file a claim with them for 3 months or 4500 miles. Therefore, because the civic was sold "as is" we can't help Mrs. [redacted] at this time.

Review: I needed to transfer title to my car to my son so that he could trade it in upon purchasing a new car. We went to North Hills Auto Mall (NHAM) on Saturday, May 23, 2015. Big mistake! I was fast talked into signing over the title to the car, but after signing it I was told they couldn’t complete the transfer because the insurance policy on the car wasn’t in my son’s name. Told him to get the insurance in his name and return on Tuesday for them to complete the transfer process. My son went to NHAM on Tuesday, 5/26 and presented all of the forms that were needed. $189.70 later they were supposed to process the paperwork for new tags and title. Mind you, we didn’t get an itemized listing of what that $189.70 covered beyond the $86.00 for the state for title and tags. On Saturday, June 20, 2015 I received all of the paperwork from the state back in the mail with a note that no payment was sent with the paperwork. I promptly phoned NHAM and spoke with Joe who said he would look into the problem and I should call him back in 10 minutes. I told him it was obvious what had happened – even though we paid them $189.70 (state was due $86.00) they didn’t send the payment. My son is temporarily in Pittsburgh but we live outside of [redacted] so the paperwork came to [redacted] instead of Pittsburgh. I suggested they should pay the overnight fee to get the paperwork back to them and he refused. (We already paid enough for this process so another mistake on my part – I sent it through regular mail). I sent the paperwork on Monday, 6/22 (after 4 messages and repeated calls beginning at 9:30 am and continuing until 1:45 when I finally got Joe on the phone for their PO Address). I have proof that the paperwork arrived in their PO Box on 6/25. My son missed out on the opportunity to trade in the car as his new car arrived on 7/2 and we still hadn’t received the title from the state.

NHAM doesn’t deserve the opportunity to be a title company for the state. Their customer service is terrible. When you call their outgoing message says someone will call you back in 3 minutes. I never received a call back, had to continually call to reach someone live. No apologies for not calling back, no apologies for not processing the paperwork correctly.

My son phoned NHAM to see if they had sent the paperwork through a second time and included payment this time. Repeated phone calls over two days and again, no message returned. Had to call the state to find the title was on its way. The title arrived 7/10, less than one week prior to my son moving to NC on 7/16. The car needs to be sold prior to his move, but with less than one week to accomplish this it’s doubtful it will happen. I strongly encourage anyone that is thinking of doing business with NHAM to rethink it. I don’t know how they are with car sales, but their title transfer and their customer service are horrendous.Desired Settlement: Refund the amount that NHAM charged above the fees to the state for the title and tags. An apology would also be welcomed.

Review: After putting a down payment on a 1998 Subaru Forester, I was told I couldn't pick up the car when I paid for it on Friday, February 21, 2014 because of issues with the title for the car. After waiting for almost three weeks, I was told that I would be put into another car by Friday, the 14th of March if the title wasn't in by then. On the 14th of March, I went to the dealer and was offered a few cars before deciding on a 1998 Subaru Impreza. I was told that the car had passed state inspection for the year, as well as emissions testing. The stickers on the car were recent, and not being told of any further issues with the car, I went to pick it up that night. Upon arriving at my house, I noticed the front headlight was out and the washer fluid knob did not work. On Sunday, the 16th, while driving to Cranberry, the check engine light came on after driving less than 100 miles. I stopped at [redacted] in Cranberry Twp., where I was informed by an employee that the error codes had been previously cleared in order for the light to temporarily shut off. While troubleshooting to find the errors, we discovered that the gas tank was not fitting correctly and the gas cap was completely sealed to the car with expanding foam. While putting gas in the car for the first time that night, gas leaked out onto the ground from the filler tube. On Monday, the 17th, I took the car to the dealer to negotiate the problem. I was told I could not have a refund, and when I gave them the keys to look at the car, they began to work on it without my permission. After telling them the police were going to be involved, they proceeded to kick me off of the property, without giving my car back. They then took it without my permission, I do not know where, I was told it was taken to Wexford, but they were gone for almost one hour. When the police arrived, they brought the car back, with new inspection stickers and quick fixes to the body as well as gas tank. All problems were not resolved. I have called the State Police.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the car. I did not receive the car I initially paid for and was more than cooperative while waiting almost one month for anything to be done about it. I do NOT want another car from this dealer. I want my deposit back and I want the charges taken off of the credit card that I used to purchase this car.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: They misrepresent the vehicles - regarding the number of previous owners - you cannot trust their website for accurate information. They will say that their vehicles are pre-owned certified even when it is impossible for that to be true since vehicles over a certain number of miles cannot be "pre-owned certified". They will promise a refund but never give it. Basically dishonest about everything.Desired Settlement: [redacted] promised a refund over the phone - twice. I expected him to be honest and give the refund.
