Certain items I consigned with the business were not returned to me nor was I compensated for them. They were high end designer clothes.On 9/26/15 I went to the business to retrieve the items that I consigned with them that had not sold. The weather was bad and the store was not actually open for business but the associate let me in. She quickly came back with the clothes that had not sold and a sheet for me to sign saying I received certain clothing and accessory items back. I was not given time to make sure everything that was on the list was actually given back to me and it was pouring outside and it was clear she wanted me to leave quickly. The number of items she returned to me did not look like as many items as they stated on their list they returned to me so immediately after I put the clothes and accessories in my car I pulled into a nearby bank that had a covered area out of the rain and compared the items on the list with what had been returned to me. When I did so I found out that they had failed to return 4 clothing items and one [redacted] scarf box that they had listed as "returned" to me on the list I had to sign. The 4 clothing items that were missing were high end designer items that the business itself had listed for sale for nearly $1,000 (the 4 items together). I immediately returned back to the store (maybe 5-7 minutes later) and showed the associate from her list what items had not been returned to me. She immediately told me I needed to speak with the owner about it because she had been the one "to pull the clothes". I want to note that these were very specific clothing items that you cannot even buy in North Carolina (I had bought them originally in New York, Italy and Spain). Later that morning on 9/26/15, I wrote an email to the store again reporting the items that had not been returned to me. I heard nothing back from them. On 9/30/15, I called the business and left a message regarding the missing items. On 10/3/15 I emailed the business again re: my previous email and phone calls and the missing designer items I had not been given back. On 10/7/15 I wrote another email and called the business and finally -- 11 days later -- the owner called me back and left a message telling me she did not understand what the issue was because I had signed the list of clothing items that were returned to me. I called owner back an hour or two later after she left her message and asked if she was there. The associate said no and asked who was calling. I gave my name when they asked who I was and then started to leave my phone number when I was hung up on. On 10/7/15 I again wrote the business regarding this issue asking for the designer items back or compensation for same. To date, as of today, 10/16/15 I have not heard back from them again. So I have communicated with them 9 times in person, by email and on the phone and they have left one message for me saying they don't understand what the problem is. There has not been a single effort on the owner's part to hear what actually occurred. This has been a horrible experience first because the associate I dealt with knew that I was telling the truth and because I have consigned a number of times with another well known consignment shops in Raleigh and have NEVER had any issue getting the money for items they sold and getting the items back that they did not sell. The items I gave this business to consign were designer, special items. The business is not a big store (it is 1/3 the size of other stores I consign with in Raleigh) and the items were distinctive. It is difficult to believe that the items could be "misplaced" or "lost". If they truly cannot locate them then I believe that they were sold likely at prices close to what they listed the items for. I believe a reputable business would work with me to find resolution for my missing clothing items rather than avoid communication with me. /////Desired SettlementI would like to have the designer clothing items and [redacted] scarf box returned to me by the business. If they cannot locate the items then I would like to be compensated that they have either lost or sold./////
