To Whom it May Concern--On December 5, 2017, Mr [redacted] called and requested our services He stated that his water heater was leaking and it has gotten the floor wet in the water heater closet of the mobile home He wanted someone ASAP The residence was located very close to Chilili He was then asked the required questions of the model and size of the water heater and told him that his water heater would be over $900, in advance, and was also told that we charge $to remove and replace the water heater on a mobile home if no additional work was required Mr [redacted] agreed The trip included a one hour drive to Albuquerque, where our supply house is located and another hour and a half driving back to the [redacted] residence Upon arrival to their residence, I noticed that the water heater closet is stuffed with insulation (all the way around and above the water heater) This insulation was also stuffed against the combustion air venting I had to remove all the insulation and noticed that some of the plumbing was not original and was connected with a garden hose to the water heater I had to remove the hot and cold side pipes and I took the old water heater out The existing water heater pan was filled with water Most of the insulation around the water heater had soaked up most of the water from the continuous leak from at least several weeks, if not months I disconnected the pan, drained the water, cleaned the pan, cleaned the water closet flooring and did not observe any damage to the flooring that could cause any issues to the new water heater or the house Since the water heater closet was three and a half feet off the ground, I simply asked Mr [redacted] if he would be kind enough to help me lift the new water heater into the closet He kindly agree and I greatly appreciated his help and I made sure that he was aware of my gratitude I replaced all the old pipes from the cold and hot water I checked under the house for any leaks, this was done at Mr [redacted] 's request Mr [redacted] believed there could be a leaking pipe under the house I told Mr [redacted] that all the insulation in the water heater closet is not necessary because the water heater is already insulated The only thing that needs to be insulated would be the pipe and the combustion air vent must not be obstructed so the water heater can get fresh air and operate properly I personally took the new water heater box, packaging and loaded it into my truck I discarded them properly I am so sorry that Mr [redacted] believes that I am responsible for the trash and debris that I did not bring to the property I did not charge Mr [redacted] for additional work that I performed for him, including removing and replacing incoming and outgoing hot and cold water lines, as well as, the temperature and relief valve piping and fixing the damaged exhaust vent Our average charge for such additional services is usually from between $to $ I forfeited the charges because of Mr [redacted] "s kindness by assisting with putting the water heater in the closet. On December 8, 2017, Mrs [redacted] called and wanted me to discard the old water heater I went today (12/11/2017), and the water heater was not there Again, this trip was out of courtesy to Mr [redacted] , in order to make sure that they are happy patrons. When the final bill was presented to Mr [redacted] , he thought the water heater was too expensive He then looked at his wife and asked her , "Didn't we pay $for our last water heater?" Mrs [redacted] replied to him,"No honey, they charged very well over$1,for just the water heater."Once again, we are sorry that Mrs [redacted] believes that we did not perform our job to their satisfaction I hope, however, that this letter and some comparison estimates will convince them that they were treated fairly.Respectfully submitted,Al H [redacted] NPlumbing, Heating and Cooling

To Whom it May Concern--On December 5, 2017, Mr. [redacted] called and requested our services.  He stated that his water heater was leaking and it has gotten the floor wet in the water heater closet of the mobile home.  He wanted someone ASAP.  The residence was located very close to...

Chilili.  He was then asked the required questions of the model and size of the water heater and told him that his water heater would be over $900, in advance, and was also told that we charge $650 to remove and replace the water heater on a mobile home if no additional work was required.  Mr. [redacted] agreed.  The trip included a one hour drive to Albuquerque, where our supply house is located and another hour and a half driving back to the [redacted] residence.  Upon arrival to their residence, I noticed that the water heater closet is stuffed with insulation (all the way around and above the water heater).  This insulation was also stuffed against the combustion air venting.  I had to remove all the insulation and noticed that some of the plumbing was not original and was connected with a garden hose to the water heater.  I had to remove the hot and cold side pipes and I took the old water heater out.  The existing water heater pan was filled with water.  Most of the insulation around the water heater had soaked up most of the water from the continuous leak from at least several weeks, if not months.  I disconnected the pan, drained the water, cleaned the pan, cleaned the water closet flooring and did not observe any damage to the flooring that could cause any issues to the new water heater or the house.  Since the water heater closet was three and a half feet off the ground, I simply asked Mr. [redacted] if he would be kind enough to help me lift the new water heater into the closet.  He kindly agree and I greatly appreciated his help and I made sure that he was aware of my gratitude.  I replaced all the old pipes from the cold and hot water.  I checked under the house for any leaks, this was done at Mr. [redacted]'s request.  Mr. [redacted] believed there could be a leaking pipe under the house.  I told Mr. [redacted] that all the insulation in the water heater closet is not necessary because the water heater is already insulated.  The only thing that needs to be insulated would be the pipe and the combustion air vent must not be obstructed so the water heater can get fresh air and operate properly.  I personally took the new water heater box, packaging and loaded it into my truck.  I discarded them properly.  I am so sorry that Mr. [redacted] believes that I am responsible for the trash and debris that I did not bring to the property.  I did not charge Mr. [redacted] for additional work that I performed for him, including removing and replacing incoming and outgoing hot and cold water lines, as well as, the temperature and relief valve piping and fixing the damaged exhaust vent.  Our average charge for such additional services is usually from between $600 to  $800.  I forfeited the charges because of Mr. [redacted]"s kindness by assisting with putting the water heater in the closet. On December 8, 2017, Mrs. [redacted] called and wanted me to discard the old water heater.  I went today (12/11/2017), and the water heater was not there.  Again, this trip was out of courtesy to Mr. [redacted], in order to make sure that they are happy patrons. When the final bill was presented to Mr. [redacted], he thought the water heater was too expensive.  He then looked at his wife and asked her , "Didn't we pay $650 for our last water heater?"  Mrs. [redacted] replied to him,"No honey, they charged very well over$1,000 for just the water heater."Once again, we are sorry that Mrs. [redacted] believes that we did not perform our job to their satisfaction.  I hope, however, that this letter and some comparison estimates will convince them that they were treated fairly.Respectfully submitted,Al H[redacted]NJA Plumbing, Heating and Cooling
