I have leased my past three vehicles through Nissan of Canton in Canton, Michigan. My original salesman was Demitri and he was WONDERFUL. However, Demitri has retired since I signed my lease on my 2016 Nissan Rogue and when I recently decided to turn in my lease early (I was over my miles), I was not given the same type of warm and appreciative care as a customer.
David was my salesperson and, together with Pete, they got me into a 2019 Rogue SV. It's a BEAUTIFUL car...but originally what I asked for was simple to use a cosigner that I had so that I could buy out my 2016 lease. I knew I was over my miles and I didn't really NEED a new car. When I finally was able to get to the dealership, they kept giving me prices for a new Rogue S or a new Rogue SV. They said the nearly $400/month payment would include the roll over of the mileage charges from my 2016 lease. I was also told that he "never had anyone want to buy out a lease so I am not really sure how to do that."
I signed a contract at 10pm that night and now have received a bill for over $2300 for the over miles on my 2016 Rogue. I have NEVER received a bill from a dealership before and I've been leasing cars for nearly 20 years. David told me that I needed to speak to Pete about this because "he ran the numbers". When I spoke to Pete, he said that they don't normally cover the over miles because they don't know how much it will be. I told him, "Well, you know it's 15 cents per mile, you know my lease was for 12,000/year and you know how many miles my car had on it when it was returned." He told me he would look into my file and give me a call back. That was two days ago. Yesterday I asked David to let Pete know that I was still waiting to hear from him and he said that he conveyed the message to Pete. I still haven't heard from anyone.
I feel like I was pressured into this new lease and that they were not transparent about NOT including my over miles.
After almost 3 weeks after originally contacting the dealership for car trouble, 2 weeks after dropping it off, 2 car rentals, $100 out of pocket, multiple delays, numerous calls and visits, and over an hour of waiting to pick it up Nissan finally fixed my transmission under the extended warranty. It was like pulling teeth the entire time. I will never buy another Nissan and would not recommended the extended warranty. I will never go to this dealership again and would not recommend it to anyone. BEWARE!
