As s member of NIH, we thought it is good to work with NIH FCU for remotgage to support their business After our experiences, we will not recommend anyone to use them for mortgage or refinancing mortgage First of all, they lost our paper work over and over, and keep asking the same paper work more than ten times They delayed response constantly or not responding our request to correct paper work After more than a month of their incapable management and delay (while we kept asking day after day, when we can sign the paper work or can you correct errors on the form), they came back with an extra out of pocket fee to finalize the remortgage by saying that we missed the deadline for the interest rate freezeIt was them delayed! They've never corrected mistakes on the form, either Even though we loose our house inspection fee of $500, we are happy to walk out from NIHFCU for remortgage deal as we can no longer take this constant aggravation they caused us Much of our valuable time was lost by them We are very unhappy!

Review: I contacted NIH FCU Cardmember Services about resolving a late payment issue and received no response despite multiple attempts.Desired Settlement: I would like the NIH FCU to contact me about the late payment that resulted from my prolonged absence (I was in Germany) but was resolved within 3 days of the due date. (The card did not have a prior balance and so there was no automatic payment set.) I request a response to my request for a courtesy waive of the late payment fee due to the extenuating circumstances.

Review: I have been contacting NIH credit union for over 3 months regarding a credit in the amount of $4.64 cash back that was supposed to be applied to my account in March. The credit was said to have been deposited in my account in March 2013 for my cash back rewards purchases made in February 2013. I have contacted NIHFCU several times and each time I am told that my issue has been sent to "escalations" but nothing ever happens beyond that. No one has called, emailed or written me about my missing $4.64. There is no helpful information provided on their rewards website as a matter of fact that website is really poorly designed for the rewards system. Reaching someone regarding the rewards program at the NIHFCU is extremely tedious and it seems no one really is the point of contact so the customer gets the runaround and no solutions.Desired Settlement: I would like NIHFCU to the deposit the $4.64 into my checking account as they said they would over three months ago. They have dragged their feet long enough on this situation, enough is enough, just give me my cash back as promised.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Upon closing my savings and checking accounts at NIH Federal Credit Union, my access to the online banking system was promptly discontinued. As a consequence of the discontinuation, my access to my electronic statements was also discontinued. In a customer service call on 5/30/13 requesting my last statement, I was told it would be forwarded upon the generation of the statement through the normal statement cycle. On 7/23/13, I again contacted NIH Credit Union as the final statement had not been received. I was told by the customer service agent that I must first request a copy of the final statement in writing and provide an $8 check for production of the statement. The $8 fee is essentially a hidden account closing fee that is not disclosed by NIHFCU.Desired Settlement: Provide requested statement as promised during customer service call and end practice of charging $8 to documentation that customer is entitled to.

This letter is in response to Revdex.com Complaint ID [redacted] which was submitted to your office by [redacted], regarding a request for a statement. I have investigated the claim with the following results:
When account statements became available in online banking shortly after the close of the April 30, 2013 statement period, an email was sent to **. [redacted] alerting him about the statement availability. This is a standard industry practice. Also, an account statement was provided free of charge on July 25, 2013 for the month ending April 30, 2013.
**. [redacted] closed his accounts at the credit union on May 22, 2013. Upon closing, all account access was terminated. Our records do not indicate that a statement was provided to **. [redacted] at the time. However, an account statement was provided free of charge on July 25, 2013 for the period May 1- June 30, 2013.
Our intent is not to charge the $8 for the final statement. The $8 fee is for providing a duplicate statement.
We apologize for the delay in sending the final statement and recognize this caused an inconvenience for **. [redacted].
Thank you for allowing NIHFCU the opportunity to address this complaint. Please feel free to contact me directly if I can be of further assistance in this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: It is true that they provided the last statement. However, it took an additional two phone calls expending at least 30 minutes of my time to achieve the result. The customer service was combative regarding my request, repeatedly referring to the incomplete notes of the original 5/30/2013 phone call and suggesting that I was in effect, lying with regard to content of the conversation. Only upon their review of the taped phone call, did they relent and provide the statements. I find the difficulty in achieving this result inconsistent with NIH's status as a credit union that is operated for the benefit of its members.
