On 8/29/15, Mr. [redacted] came in and sat with a designer to have a custom diamond engagement ring made.  Mr. [redacted] put a $1,000 deposit down on a total cost of $5,980 for the custom diamond mounting and a 1.12 carat diamond center stone.  Mr. [redacted] was told that $250 charge for the wax...

mold would be non- refundable.  New York Jewelers created the wax mold of Mr. [redacted]’s design.  In early September Mr. [redacted] was very pleased with the wax and approved for the ring to be made.  He requested that the ring be ready for early October pick up.  Mr. [redacted] didn’t come in until October 30, 2015, in which he applied for financing.   He was approved for $1500 which he chose not to apply towards his layaway.   On November 15, 2015 Mr. [redacted] put an additional $100 payment towards his layaway to show good faith as he had not picked up his ring to date. On December 28, 2015, he called to state that he wanted to cancel his custom purchase. At this time, Mr. [redacted] is welcome to pay for the remaining balance and purchase the entire ring or he can pick up his custom designed diamond semi-mount for the cost of $2,100.             Tell us why here...
