Nescor replaced two windows without seeking building permit and resulted in not being to code.On [redacted] Nescor were contracted to replace two basement windows for two egress double hung windows. The purpose of this work was to install egress window wells and have the windows be an escape route. This was going to be a two separate company project. (Nescor for windows and another company for egress wells.)On [redacted] Nescor installed two windows and during the process it was complained the windows appeared too small but was assured they were to code. Substantial amount of garbage was left by out driveway, siding was not placed back, caulking not done and the bottom of both windows had two large over cuts from the saw. On [redacted] Photographs were taken of the windows and saw over cuts showing daylight can be clearly seen through it and it was not a cosmetic issue. Calls were made to Nescor about the over cuts needed to be filled. [redacted],was adamant they were a cosmetic issue and once "back filled" would correct the issue. Nescor wanted final payment and it was held initially due to uncompleted work. On [redacted] a rep from the other company informed they also install egress windows and what we had installed were not to code. Many phone calls were made to Nescor and remained adamant the work was to code. On [redacted] Building Inspector was contacted and informed Nescor did not apply for a permit and once the permit issue was resolved an appointment would be made to check the installed work. During the day and more towards the early evening there was a substantial amount of rain fall and water was entering the basement through the cement over cuts. Photographs of the water entering the windows and damage to our property were taken. Nescor contacted repeatedly and after pictures were sent by cell phone to a Nescor supervisor's cell phone, [redacted], she dispatched an employee to fill the over cuts. On [redacted] the [redacted] arrived and inspected windows and reported they were not to egress code. Mr. [redacted] even contacted the supervisor, [redacted] and informed the windows were incorrect size. The windows were also placed too high up due to the cement headers being cut out. After continuous unprofessionalism from [redacted] and [redacted] we spoke with Mr. [redacted] of [redacted] and believed we were on track to have issues resolved. On [redacted] stated an addendum to the contract was going to be written up correcting all issues and before windows are re-ordered we would know the size. On [redacted] early evening, a Nescor Rep, [redacted] arrived and documented the problems and took photographs with his cell phone. [redacted] also took a picture of the page listing our grievances and what needed to be addressed. [redacted] informed us he was going to report back to [redacted] Contacted Nescor and [redacted] informed she was getting all the info and would call back next day, which she didn't. On [redacted] Nescor was contacted and [redacted] stated [redacted] was on the phone getting "Specs and dimensions" and would call back, which she didn't. [redacted] Nescor was contacted and message was left for [redacted]. Same day, I went to the Nescor office and spoke with [redacted] informed they had an inspector also check the work and it was to code. After having a conversation with [redacted], him still not conceding, he was going to have Keith go back to the house to re-measure again and note our issues. On [redacted] arrived and remeasured and he stated that in ** the laws were different and that is why they had the mix up thinking they had installed egress windows. [redacted] sent a one sentence addendum not describing the issues needed correcting or measurements to the new windows. A message was left for [redacted] and on [redacted] he said he would fix the language to the contract. [redacted] text-ed me on [redacted] and needed more time and would send it on [redacted] On [redacted] no call from [redacted] and no email.Desired SettlementWe have given a reasonable amount of time to have Nescor replace the windows and take corrective actions. We have a complete lose of faith in product and service. We are seeking a refund of the two payments already made totaling [redacted] and the cost of repairing the cement headers that were cut out. Will provide three quotes with the estimate.Business Response This is in the hands of our Attorney. We have sent them a release. We are waiting the return of the release.

NESCOR failed to adhere to the Contract, install windows, doors and vinyl siding in a timely manner. Also, they failed to install products correctly.TimelineMonday 6/1/15 - Met with [redacted] for Nescor. According to Mr. [redacted] Nescor can and/or will do the following:* Build/weld their own windows and doors to fit any size opening vs. generic size windows and doors (to ensure optimal insulation and sound proofing). According to Mr. [redacted] "Because we make all our own products, we can definitely complete the installation within 2 weeks."* "Provide ¾" insulation under all vinyl siding."* Based on the above information, Nescor will create my 4 windows, back door and sliding glass doors and install within 2 weeks. He went on to say, " If you're willing to sign a contract, make the initial deposit and have the work performed within 2 weeks, I will reduce the price from $17,362.00 to $9,634.00." We met on 6/1/15 and the $3.211.00 was charged to my credit card on 6/2/15 as the initial deposit upon signing the contract. This was the first of 3 payments due. Note: According to the Contract, the second and third payments are due "upon completion...".Friday 6/5/15 -Met with [redacted] for measurements. Appt was at 11:00am and he showed-up at noon. He expressed his concern with the distance and wanting to "get the job done within 1 day so we don't have to go back and forth."Note: Received several calls from [redacted] since the date he did measurements. The first question was to measure one of the 4 windows. The second question had to do with the white slats that were present in the existing windows on the home and how many there were (although he took pictures). The third call entailed me measuring the door jam for the back door being installed.Monday 6/8/15 - $3,211.00, the 2nd installment, was unexpectedly charged to my credit card. Note: According to the Contract, the second and third payments are due "upon completion...".Friday 7/3/15 - [redacted] called, in the late afternoon, to cancel my installation date for 7/6/15.Monday 7/6/15 - Initial installation date scheduled with NESCOR. This date was cancelled by [redacted].Tuesday 7/14/15 - Second and/or rescheduled NESCOR installation date. NESCOR did not show-up. I called [redacted] at NESCOR. She said they called me to cancel the installation. Note: Because I work in prisons, sometimes I don't get a signal where I work. It's possible there was a call. But, I did not receive a VM message.Tuesday 7/21/15 - Third scheduled installation date. NESCOR started the work. Wednesday 7/22/15 - [redacted] called to say NESCOR couldn't make it due to an "urgent job that's on my license." He specifically stated NESCOR would be "back on 7/23/15 to finish the job. This isn't the NESCOR way."Thursday 7/23/15 - No show no call.Friday 7/24/15 - No show no callFriday 7/24/15 - I called NESCOR and spoke with [redacted]. I shared all the promises made by NESCOR's [redacted] I complained that my job has been rescheduled multiple times and now it's just sitting there with open holes for the rain and bugs to come-in, etc. I said I'm going to contact the Revdex.com. Friday 7/24/15 - I called [redacted] He sent a text back saying "... and your job will completed on Monday." I sent a text back saying that I was "disappointed" and asked when we could "have a discussion?" I also called and left VM messages for him. After receiving the above text message, he failed to respond by phone or text.Friday 7/24/15 - In the late afternoon, [redacted] called to say he'll be at my home on Monday, 7/27/15, to "finish the install." He called again at 7:30 pm. He said "[redacted] is trying to get me fired."Monday 7/27/15 - [redacted] and [redacted] showed-up and did some work on my home. Over the weekend and prior to their arrival, I sent a text to [redacted] asking "what size insulation they were putting under the vinyl siding that's being installed?" There was no response. When I arrived to my house, I asked why "there wasn't any insulation under my vinyl siding?" NESCOR was installing vinyl siding without insulation.Desired SettlementProposed Resolution1. Please refund my money. I need to hire a reputable and reliable contractor to immediately correct all the issues listed above and noted in the pictures. 2. NESCOR to be financially responsible for any structural damage due to the removal of support beams from each side of the new door that was installed. In my opinion, I've provided NESCOR with ample time/opportunities to properly complete the job with their "best guys" and "expert siding installers." In addition, I've sent pictures and spoke with a NESCOR manager named [redacted].Business Response Job is complete and customer has paid in fullConsumer Response Ms. [redacted] Hello. Thank you for your assistance. The situation has been resolved. Again, thank you. [redacted]XXX-XXX-XXXX

Contract start date 4-1 2015. Scheduled Contract finish date 6-1-2015. Only about 1/3 of work completed. Incurred damage to ceilings. Not repaired.Ceiling damage 5-13 2015. Built roof over existing chimney. Building violation we were forced to turn off furnace and wait 4 days for chimney completion. Driveway blocked with excess material 3 weeks after continually demanding it's removal. so access to garage (2-car) could be made. Constant failed return calls from production mangers and salesman. No window installed per contract. no attic hatch/ladder installed. siding not stated, gutters not installed. Vertical post not installed in front. We were told in three previous weeks by general Mgr Production Mgr and salesman job would be done that week previous.. Workers were untidy, leaving nails on decks front and back of house even when asked to do so.Desired SettlementFinish job and complete repairs as they said they would.Business Response This job was a special job with lots of detail. We are on location and working on the home. ** is also working with Mr. [redacted]. This should not be a complaint due to the fact that we have been in the process of working to get material and now working on the home.Consumer Response I'm sorry . I sent an update to the consumer affairs claim with some detail. The problems this company has created including showing up when not scheduled and not showing up when scheduled is aggravating. The business practices are unsafe and uncleanly.. Boards with nails sticking up scattered throughout the work area blocking access to door entrees dropped nails throughout the yard and driveway and not removed before leaving the premises as asked. The items such as window and attic ladder didn't show until last week they were on the contract dated April 2015 ...Excess materials left in the driveway dumpster (now removed and shingles (now removed) which prevented vehicle access to the garage for 3 weeks...The window was finished Monday 7-20-2015 the attic ladder is unfinished and doesn't look like it is going to provide me safe access to my attic space which I need for storage and electrical work. Saturday the new sheet rock was installed which was part of the damage resulting from negligence by now covering the unfinished roof properly during a rainstorm back in May. In the garage after we let the sheet rock dry from painting. The door jammed in the ceiling and would not open. I called this into the production [redacted] Saturday And informed him.He said [redacted] the construction leadman would return shortly, he didn't call or return till Monday 20 July and said he didn't know about this. The interim fix for this was to cut back a portion of the ceiling to allow clearance for the garage door to open.. Coincidently we are still waiting for a fix to resolve the obvious mismatch between the new roofline and the door header. Note: the door itself is square. I was told by The production Mgr. Friday that he would be back Monday July 20-2015.. To date I haven't been contacted about either the attic ladder or the garage door header trim situation. [redacted]Final Business Response All work has been completed including clean up. The consumer chose the stairs personally, business did not, but we did look at the stairs again. Job is done and paid for.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Nescor never actually completed the installation of the attic ladder. But has agreed to send a check of $300.00. so I may complete this attic access project. Upon receipt of this money I would consider the matter closed. I certainly would not recommend this business. They told me on the onset they do not subcontract out their work. Rebuilding of the roof, chimney construction and shingling was performed by another contractor altogether. Only the siding and gutters and interior repairs were done by Nescor.. Nescor is a very poorly managed business. We the customer were subjected to much hardship during the extent of this transaction, which we were told would take 1 1/2 weeks turned into 3 months.

Windows Don't Open and Nescor has not fixed them.About a year ago, we contracted with Nescor to replace our Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room windows. When they were installed, none of the Windows would open. The installers told me that they had reported it with their management and someone would fix them. After several call, they finally sent someone. They said they would fix them in December. That did not happen. Then, they said it would be fixed int he Spring. In the Spring, they fixed our Kitchen Windows but told us that the others needed new linings and they had ordered those. A month later, we got a call saying that they were still on order and they should be out soon.. That was back in April. We are still waiting and now no one is returning our calls and no work is scheduled. Our Dining room and Living room windows still don't open and the entire Summer is almost over. So, while this is going on, Nescor has already collected their money and activated the loan against us. I have been informed that I if stop paying that, I will be negatively impacted on my credit report. So my current situation is... Nescor, without my permission, has forced me to start paying a loan for windows that they know do not work.Last contact from me to them was an e-mail over a week ago and no response to that. We also called them a few weeks ago and never heard back on that call either.Desired SettlementThey need to fix the windows and make sure that they fully comply with the level of heat loss prevention that they promised.Business Response We ordered the weatherstripping needed and it was not enough...we did what we could but we ordered more and it should be in next friday.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is not the first time that they have ordered new parts but I have to assume they will order enough this time. Also, the installer noted that they need the manufacturer to fix the latch also so just installing the weatherstripping will not be enough to fix the issue, the manufacturer needs to fix the latch as well to close this issue.

We had roofing and insulation done on our home. The roofers arrived , took the time to take all the snow off of the roof and worked hard for 2 days installing the metal roof. They cleaned up at the end of each day and brought their own dumpster. There was an issue with a piece of our vinyl siding and a window screen that were damaged during the roofing process. Nescor handled the issues promptly within a few days of the work being done.

Nescor performed their window installation very well. Corrected any issues most professionally. Very happy with window quality.
