Nelson Residential began repairing my flooded home in May of 2016. Initially the process was going smoothly. Once the demo & sheetrock was installed, I started noticing a lack of communication between my contractor and his subcontractor. I would communicate my paint colors, faucet types, flooring, etc. to him and have to readdress it with the subcontractor daily, as he was not relaying the info to the subcontractor. There were days that the subcontractors showed up without the materials needed and could not productively do anything on those days. I had to push my final inspection back multiple times after asking the contractor if he was sure my house would be complete. He assured me that it would and the subcontractors would be there to complete the work. The subcontractor would not show up. He would fault them. Later after speaking with the subcontractor it was confirmed what I already knew. Due to the lack of communication from the contractor and his inability to get materials needed to my house in a timely manner, the subcontractors began on independent jobs to avoid a cash flow concern on their end. All this can be chalked up to part of the process or an unorganized contractor. However, when it came down to the punch list and I was threatened with a lien on my property in an attempt by the contractor to receive his final $3k without completing my punch list. I was not happy with many items. My walls have visible trim in lines and roller marks, my backsplash does not have bullnose around the decorative backsplash portion (I discussed this with the contractor multiple times. He did not relay the info to the subcontractor before the bullnose was installed.), my hood does not have a vent installed in it, my garbage disposal is installed under the sink but the button was never wired to the countertop, a kitchen cabinet is crooked, three of the kitchen cabinet drawers do not fully open or close and five of my cabinets do not have the glass installed in them.
