Please accept the following reply to the Revdex.com complaint # [redacted].  On 1/19/16 the said customer contacted the business listed in the complaint inquiring about the businesses can redemption policy.  In a conversation with an employee of the business the customer was told that the business...

only accepts can and bottle returns carrying the NYS deposit language,  any returns not carrying the NYS deposit language will not be accepted for a $.05 refund.  Further the NYS Returnable Container Act requires that all  “Dealers must accept containers and pay refunds during all normal business hours, beverages containers must be permanently and clearly marked or embossed with New York State deposit information, and printing must be at least 1/8" in height and indicate "NY" or "New York" and the amount of the deposit amount (Example: NY 5 cents or NY 5¢)”.  As a business we would clearly be in violation of the NYS Returnable Container Act if we were to not accept and issue refund for approved bottles or cans.  The business has never taken possession of approved bottles and cans and not refunded to the customer the appropriate refund, we have returned to customers containers that did not clearly carry the proper deposit language.  Clearly there was a misunderstanding in the communication between the employee and the customer.  The business would welcome the customer to bring returnable containers to the business and upon verification of the NYS deposit label and confirmation of count, the customer would receive their rightfully owed deposit refund.  To avoid further confusion, employees have been educated on the NYS Returnable Container Act, and have been advised on the proper way to address customers questions regarding the Act.   Neds General Store
