Dear [redacted] - Thank you for sending the consumer's response to our original reply.  I have reviewed this matter with our Consumer Affairs Supervisor.  According to our records, the consumer was reimbursed for all the 5 HTP product, as a result of the consumer's expressed dissatisfaction.  Within the last two weeks, we received additional products returned from the consumer.  The products recently returned were not complained of previously so the cost of those items were not refunded to the consumer until they were received.  Accordingly, in December the consumer was reimbursed a total of $146.03 and a recent credit of $126.80 issued for the recently returned items.  The consumer was called February *, 2014 and was informed of the new credit amount and the results of the investigation.  Puritan's Pride, Inc. appreciates the opportunity to address these concerns and hopes to maintain consumer satisfaction.  Thank you.Sincerely,[redacted]

[Your Answer Here]I purchased via debit card $138.34 of product from Puritan's Pride on 12/**/14.  I received the product approximately 12/**/14, so it does not take forever to send or receive mail from Hawaii...ONE WEEK, this is the USA!  I become ill from the 5HTP on12/**/14 and reported it to Puritan's Pride the following morning HST. They were going to send me a mailing label so that I could send back the 5HTP so that they could test it.  I had to call twice, it took over a week.  The first label I received I sent immediately with the remainder of the unused portion of the 5HTP.  When I spoke to [redacted] yesterday, they still had not received it, in fact , I had given her the tracking number, it was some where in Ca..The second label came on the [redacted] and I shipped the remaining product. of approximately $100.00 back to them.  I will not use their product again.  What makes me angry is how lax they have been this may have been a bad batch or just one bad bottle, who knows they haven't tested it yet.  I have received credit back to my account:  $28.94; $!9.99: $33.98.  I have not received back approximately $109.40 for all the unused product I sent back which they have received. They need to take the testing of product more seriously and use priority mail!

I received the request from the Revdex.com (dated 7/**/15) asking me to "Kindly respond to the firm's response."    I believe that the Revdex.com is asking me to respond to the firm's message dated 7/**/15.  On 7/**/15 the firm provided this response:       "In response to the consumer's rejection, this suggestion is being provided to the company for review.  The company takes consumer feedback seriously and wants to ensure consumers have confidence in our products and do not feel they are being deceived.  It is appreciated we have the continued opportunity to address consumer concerns.  Thank you."In reply to the firm's 7/**/15 response:   I am rejecting this 7/**/15 response if the firm sent this response with the hope that you close the complaint at this time.  The firm has not yet provided a satisfactory resolution or response to my original complaint .  Instead, the firm's 7/**/15 reply explains that the firm is continuing to review and consider my complaint and will reply in the future.   Therefore I am rejecting the firm's response for now, but will wait for the firm to provide updated information (and a substantive response).  For this reason the complaint should remain active and should not be closed while we wait for the firm to provide additional information (after it completes its additional internal review as explained in the firm's 7/**/15 reply). Thank you for keeping this complaint open while we await the firm's full response.

The company's response explains that the "label states the per serving amount" (which is 250 mg), but the company's response fails to note that this information (i.e., the disclosure that each vitamin contains only 250 mg rather than 1000 mg) is provided in small print on the back of the label.  The front of the label (which is the portion of the label seen on store shelves and the *only* portion of the label displayed on websites such as [redacted]) contains the following wording in large print in the center of the label:  "1000 mg Gummies" ... wording that clearly suggests that the product contains 1000 mg Gummy vitamins, which is not true.   The company's response also includes the sentence "It is not the company's intention to be deceptive."   Although the company may not "intend" to be deceptive in its labeling and advertising, it is very clear that the label on this product *is* very deceptive and should be changed to state "250 mg Gummies" rather than "1000 mg Gummies" to accurately describe the contents of the container.  There is absolutely no reason for the label to state "1000 mg Gummies" simply because a consumer could eat 4 of the vitamins to obtain 1000 gm.

Dear [redacted], The above complaint has been reviewed.  United States Nutrition, Inc. takes matters of this nature seriously.  An investigation was performed and communicated to the consumer.  The consumer sample consisted of 56 white caplets fitting the description of the subject...

bulk materials and 20 foreign off white capsules in a 60 count bottle.  All quality control criteria are met prior to releasing the product.  Capsules are not manufactured in our tablet/caplet facility.  The packaging work was reviewed and there were no related issues, incidents or deviations regarding foreign product.  In addition, 27 random bottles were examined for quality with no foreign product found.  The product packaged prior to the subject lot, did not match the foreign product, nor did the products running concurrently on adjacent lines.  There were 15,321 bottles of this lot packaged in July, 2014 and there were no similar complaints on the lot.  In compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices relations, United States Nutrition, Inc. has strict Standard Operating Procedures in place that prohibit any associate from bringing any personal items into any manufacturing and/or packaging areas.  On the basis of the foregoing, the investigation demonstrates the foreign product allegedly found in the bottle in question did not emanate from our manufacturing process and did not originate from our facilities.  Accordingly, we can only conclude the alleged foreign material found in consumer's bottle of product occurred after leaving our facilities.  I should add that we are not a pharmaceutical manufacturer, and we do not have the capabilities to identity test for products we do not manufacture. Since this was the only complaint of this nature on this lot, and we cannot identify the alleged foreign product, unfortunately, there is not much more we can do but to offer our understanding and concern of the consumer.  If there is anything else we can do to promote good will with the consumer, we are happy to do so since consumer satisfaction is important to us.Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address this matter.  We hope the consumer is satisfied with this response and welcome continued cooperation.Sincerely,

Review: On August [redacted] I placed order number [redacted] and cancelled. The money was taken from my account but was told it would be refunded in 7-10 business days. After the 10 business days were over I called and was told it would take another 7-10 business days. After the 20 business days I called again (not to mention the 3 emails) and was promised it would be put back into my account within 3 business days. It is now Sept. Review: I bought some products on the websites of Puritan's Pride in [redacted] September 2014, but until now I still have not received my order. During this period, I emailed their customer services several times, they did not gave me any useful assistance, just told me waiting. After six weeks waiting, my package still have not arrived. Then, the websites offer me two solutions, a replacement or refund. They refuse to provide me a more quickly shipment to save my waiting time. That is ridiculous.Desired Settlement: I need them deliver my order ASAP. I have been waiting too long!!!

Review: I returned some supplements that I wasn't very satisfied with at the end of October 2015 . The refund only totaled $39.75 . The refund still hasn't been credited to my credit card as of this day(1/*/2016).I have called customer service at least 4 times and e-mailed them at least 4times. At first I was told that they would mail me a check in 3-4 weeks. Several weeks passed without receiving a check. Then I called again and was told that they needed the credit card #. I gave them the credit card # about a month ago . I called a week ago and the refund still has not been applied to my credit card.Desired Settlement: Have refund applied to my credit card immediately .

Review: I sent inquiry to Nature's Bounty via contact form on their website and [redacted], but I got no response. I tried to contact customer service and they were able to speak to me and assigned me reference# [redacted].My complaint was with product that I purchased that says "Guaranteed Quality" on the label. Product is Fish Oil soft-gels 200 capsules. I asked for replacement of the product which customer service denied. I asked for refund and they said they will be able to send me refund once I send them this product back to their mailing address:ATTN: Consumer Affairs[redacted]However, I have to pay for the shipping and they will not be able to reimburse me for that. I totally do not agree that I have to pay for shipping to their faulty product. They even declined to give me pre-paid label and refund me only when the product arrives to them so that they can look at the conditions.Totally not acceptable.Desired Settlement: I want full refund of my product. I did the right thing, instead of asking for money back I said just get me replacement product which they declined. I bought this from local CVS Pharmacy store and I was total face value back without me paying any shipping charges.Refund value: $22.99 + 6% tax = $24.37
