Review: Narron fence installed a 4ft aluminum fence at my property in July 2015 at a cost of over $7K. [redacted] asked for and was provided the survey prior to contract ratification and installation. initially [redacted] damaged 2 sprinkler heads during the install in July without informing me of the damage. This was discovered in September, 60 days later. She repaired one sprinkler head but not the second one. Fast forward to October, it has now been discovered after a survey was completed from new home buyer directly behind my property, that Narron fence installed the fence 2ft on their property line totally misjudging my entire line, even after being provided the property survey. After calling and trying to get her to right her wrong, she then wants me to pay her even more money when she [redacted] personally screwed up the measurements. The seller of the new property ([redacted]) agreed to pay her $500 on my behalf to remove and reinstall fence so the new buyers could close on the property. She has since charged me an additional $100 which brings the total charge for her mistake to $600. This has to be the most unprofessional, cheating and unethical business operating in the commonwealth and should not be worthy to be a Revdex.com member under any type circumstances. I will never use her again EVER! or recommend her services to anyone. I want my $100 returned for unethical business practice and if not, I intend to follow up with legal action.Desired Settlement: I want my fence installed correctly and on the correct property line AND my $100 refunded to me immediately. This business is a cheat and clearly unethical.

Response:
Revdex.com reference number [redacted]The day we met with [redacted] to walk off his yard for
measurements we could not locate his property corner survey pins. I explained
to him that without them we were just guessing and that he needed to either
find them himself before we came to install the fence or have his property
surveyed. He said he did not want to pay for a survey. I explained that we
could not be accurate with the fence placement without it. He said that that
wasn’t his problem and that we were the fence professionals and if we got it
wrong then it was on us. I said fence professionals, yes, surveyors, no.I asked him to hold the other end of the tape measure where
he believed his property lines to be. I asked him to try and locate the pins
himself in the weeks to come & than if we saw no pins we would take those
measurement that I was putting on the contract and we would use them. When he
was holding the tape measure in the right rear corner of his property, he said
he didn’t know where his corner was because he saw no pin…He asked what the
measurement was where he was…I told him 60’.Weeks later when he requested installation, my men found
there were no corner survey pins, so my men dug around trying to discover them
in the thick sod with no luck, so they took the measurements from the contract.Months later when the rear developer surveyed his property,
he discovered that [redacted] right rear fence corner was 14” over on his property,
as was his sprinkler system. [redacted] was an unpleasant and disagreeable with
his as he was with me and threatened to take him to court before he would move
the fence. This put the developer in a big bind as he had a buyer and their closing
date was close and would have to be cancelled causing much inconvenience to the
many people involved. [redacted] contacted me to inform me I had to resolve the problem
for free and I told him since he refused to have his property surveyed and
supply us with the property corner pins I requested, that I would move the 138’
of rear fencing but that I would ask him to help out with the expense of the removal
and re-installation (concrete and gas) he refused saying it was my fault. He stalled
the developer until the last moments, so the developer contacted me and said he
would cover the cost of the labor if we would rush out there the next morning
before they were to closing that same morning.[redacted] stepped in since her husband was so disagreeable,
and called me and said she would pay the $100. I wanted to help cover expenses
so the problem could be resolved.Because the situation did not get resolved until the last
minute, there was no time for me to obtain a [redacted] ticket which meant that
we had to pull out the fence one trip and had to wait until the next week and
make another trip out there after my ticket cleared to reinstall the fence,
costing me even more money, time and gas.I regret the emotional stress this caused everyone involved.
I don’t know how much more direct or forthcoming I could have been with my
recommendations. I even offered a surveyor’s information for [redacted] to
contact.

Response:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Mrs [redacted] detail of events are about as inept as her business practices. At no time did I ever refuse a survey. She had the orginal survey in hand but apparently lacked the skill to read it. My conversation with the developer has absolutely nothing to do with her. Her own sub contracting crew has provided information on her unwillingness to accept responsibility or accountability for her inadequacies. The only resolution I seek from Mrs [redacted] and the only one she is capable of giving, is the refund of the $100 she accepted from my wife. She knew the developer had already agreed to compensate her for a speedier resolution. She is definitely staying true to her unprofessional business practices. I regret the day I saw her.

Response:
In response to [redacted] most recent letter, it is apparent
that with his recollections of the events, I must response with the truth once
again to prevent his misconceptions from resonating.[redacted] never furnished me or my workers with a legible copy
of his survey. [redacted] could not
find his plat the day I was there requesting to see it.[redacted] found it later and faxed it to me, but it was too
blurred to read.[redacted] gave me the measurement he could read over the phone,
but not enough to go by to locate the corners.[redacted] did not leave a copy of the survey the day my
workers installed the fence, nor did he furnish us with survey stakes.[redacted] was told that without the property pins or a survey
that we would install the fence per his contract measurements that he agreed
to.[redacted] had designated the spot for the right rear corner which
was 60’ from the house corner and was advised that without the property stake,
we would use that information in lieu of a survey. My workers did not, nor would they ever provide derogatory “information”
to anyone about my suitability as a person or contractor. I am a very respected
and knowledgeable contractor who has decades of experience ho has grown up in
this business from childhood. Just ask [redacted] who works for [redacted]. He came
to me for his fence installation and could not be happier with the experience.Never has this sort of thing happened in 60 years. When [redacted] said to me that first day, where the fence got
installed was not his problem…I should have walked away. Even the day I asked
him to put a copy of his survey plat on his front porch so I could come pick it
up, after driving 2 hours round trip in the rain, in 5’oclock traffic….he did
not leave it on the porch for me. Every aspect of this job was made difficult
by his on-cooperation and attitude, bad language and bullishness.I have mailed back a $100 check to his very kind and understanding
wife, who has often acted as a voice of reason during this entire process.
Hopefully this will also give her some much needed peace.

Response:
After reviewing Ms. [redacted] response, It is clear that she missed the point and I reject it. This was about her unwillingness to correct her mistake and charging me for it. It was never about the workmanship. She is right about one thing, not only should she have walked away, SO should I. She charged $7200 cash for her job and was paid TIMELY and as agreed upon, not by my wife, but by ME! She could have avoided this entire situation by simply righting her wrong, instead she chose the difficult option. As an FYI, I'm well of the age that my time is better spent dealing with positive solutions. She should rest assured that I would not recommend her business, not because of the workmanship, but her business practices. Happy New Year
I am Very pleased to have my new 7 foot, white vinyl ,lattice-top fence as of today. It came 3 days early and the guys were very nice and professional.I think I made the right choice.Three of my neighbors and one friend have already been by to admire it so I think I will charge admission. You may get more business!
Review: I have copied a letter I sent to the owner:
I am writing to let you know about our lack of satisfaction with the work performed at [redacted] on two occasions.
The fence was initially built in timely fashion in the late fall. Within 2months of construction, the fence attached to the stonewall was loose and unstable. This may have been worsened by some of the bad weather over the winter, but barring a tornado, I expected the fence to withstand multiple years of normal Richmond weather.
When I texted and asked if you would take a look at the fence, you replied that it would cost $160 to secure that portion of fence with longer screws. You then proceeded to carry out the work without waiting for any verbal or written reply. You also did not honor your guarantee of the work as outlined in your policy and contract. The policy states Narron Fence will repair or replace any portion of the fence at no cost unless caused by vehicle, collision, abuse, tornado, flood, fire or tree damage.
During our discussion yesterday on the phone, you declined to inspect the work further or make any remedy for the situation.
I must say the work performed and your business practices have fallen well short of expectations and been unprofessional at times. As such, my business partner and I plan to hold any payment for the work performed without contract or our acknowledgement and consent.Desired Settlement: I don't know that I would trust the work done by the company at this point if they were to offer to honor their guarantee. I would rather have payment in the sum to cover another company providing repair to the fence.

Case #: [redacted] (thank you for
calling, I was not yet aware of this complaint)-,.,.Sept. 5, 2014 we
installed a 6' ht. privacy wooden fence around the backyard of [redacted]
[redacted].......... Since he was not in Richmond, but in Maryland, all of our communications
havebeen either by phone or text............ Aside from my option of
running a privacy fence behind the approx. 4' ht old leaningbrick wall that was located along
the sidewalk of [redacted].; he had asked myopinion of putting an approx. 2'
high privacy fence on top of the wall........... It's also worth noting
that the brick wall is very old, brittle and leaning, plus is alonga sidewalk next door to a school
with high foot traffic / as I had informed Mr. [redacted] ............ I ad vised him against it,
telling him I wasn't comfortable
doing that because it wasgoing to be weak and that it
would act as "a sail in the
wind" and not be as
strong as afence installed into concrete into the ground.
After that conversation, he called and saidhe still wanted to put the fence on
top of the wall, so I told him we would do our best.In mid November 2014, he called and
asked me to go look at his rental
property'sfence on wall because he thought it might be loose. I
sent a crew out there
for free andthey tightened down the bolts.--During this past winter, in Richmond, we
experienced high winds, especially on oneday in particular when we had a
wind storm with sustained
60 mph gale force windsthat lasted all night and part of
the next day.
Many homes
and structures weredamaged and many trees were
uprooted causing havoc all over the area.--Shortly after which he called
again @ Feb. 27th and asked me to
look at the fence onthe wall again. I did and saw that
the high winds had bellowed out the center of the 41'fence line. I contacted him on March 5th to
tell him the wind had damaged his fencethere, but it had not fallen over
from faulty workmanship, but by a wind storm we
hadhad here in Richmond and that I would send a
crew there the following week to put inlonger bolts on those 3 center
posts and make the necessary repairs. --On March 9th I contacted him that the repairs had
been made and to please eithermail me a check for $160. or let me
know if he wanted to use a
credit card.--After the work had been done as
he had requested, he replied that the work shouldhave been covered by the warranty and
that he never remembers us having theconversations about the potential
weakness of the fence on the wall. He also said that Ishould never had done the job if I thought it was
going to be a problem, and when heasked me why I did it, I told him I try to accommodate my customers.-~I sent a crew there
once as a courtesy for free to tighten the bolts when they werealready fine. I sent a crew there
on his request to repair the damaged, wind blown area, which was a result of a storm well
documented as having caused havoc in this area.--Later on, I researched and found
a different wall mount post flange that I thoughtwould be another stronger
alternative to the "sail in the
wind" situation, so eventhough his fence was in
pristine condition since the repairs
on March 5th. I contactedhim about it and he said
"ok, thanks".-~The materials
cost me $110. plus the labor for a crew to install them, but I did not askMr. [redacted] to pay for these expenses to me.--Advising the customer of the
potential stability issues in advance, two free repairtrips, free materials .. .! don't know what more I can
possibly do to please Mr. [redacted].
