Nandwani's Tailors & Alterations Reviews (1)

This business lost my property and refused to accept responsibility for doing so. They refused to issue a refund and said I was making it all up. On 3/5/16 I dropped off a pair of navy pants for an alteration. An employee took my measurements and provided me with a receipt with a pick up day after 3/11/16. On 3/19/16 I went to pick up my altered pants. The same woman was working and she looked for the pants and was unable to locate them. She suggested I look for them myself. I assisted in looking for the pants. I was at the store for over 20 minutes searching for the pants. When it became evident they were nowhere to be found, she informed me that one of their employees must have given them to another costumer and said "accidents happen sometimes." She gave me a refund of $16.38 for the services the business failed to provide and asked me to return next week to ask the owner for a refund on the pants. She assured me even without a receipt for the original purchase the owner would give me a refund because the company evidently lost the pants. On 3/23/16 I called the business and spoke with the owner. The owner and another employee suggested that they would never have lost my pants and assured me that their system is fail proof - in fact, they claimed to have never lost anyone's property in the history of the business. They assured me that, because they had the original receipt, I must have picked up the pants and simply forgot. They asked me to search my house for the pants. I assured them that I had not had amnesia, and that I did not have the pants. They told me that someone in my household must have picked them up and again assured me that it was impossible that this was their fault. When I asked the owner for at least an apology, he told me to go to [redacted] and hung up on me.Desired SettlementI am looking for at least a $50 refund at a minimum for the pants. I know that the pants were purchased at Macy's and their value would not have been under $50. At this point, I will settle for that amount because of the ridiculous treatment from this business.Business Response MS SIDELINK USED OUR ALTERATION SERVICES FOR A PAIR OF PANTS THAT NEEDED TO BE HEMMED. SHE DROPPED IT OFF AND WAS TOLD TO BRING HER COPY OF THE RECEIPT WITH HER WHEN SHE WAS TO PICK IT UP. WE USUALLY KEEP A WHITE RECEIPT ATTACHED TO THE ORDER AND ON DELIVERY WE TAKE THE WHITE COPY OUT AFTER WE VERIFY THAT THE PERSON WITH THE YELLOW COPY (PROVIDED TO THEM WHEN THEY DROP THEIR ORDER OFF) IS IN FACT THE PERSON WHO NEEDS TO PICK UP THE CLOTHES. WE HAVE OUR WHITE COPY WHICH SIGNIFIES THAT THE ORDER WAS DELIVERED. WE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT TO MS. SIDELINK AND TOLD HER THAT WE ONLY DELIVER ONCE WE CHECK BOTH THE WHITE AND THE YELLOW COPY PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF PICKUP. SHE DENIES THAT SHE HAS PICKED UP HER ORDER AND GOT AGITATED WHEN WE SPOKE TO HER AND STARTED CALLING OUR BUSINESS INAPPOPRIATE NAMES. SHE TOLD [redacted] THAT "WE RUN A ______________ BUSINESS" AND ONLY IN RESONSE TO SUCH LANGUAGE DID HE HANG UP ON HER. WE EVEN GAVE HER A CREDIT FOR THE ALTERATION AND WHEN SHE WASN'T EVEN HAPPY WITH THAT [redacted] ASKED HER TO BRING HER RECEIPT OF PURCHASE FOR THE PANTS AND WE WOULD PAY THAT AMOUT. BUT SHE SAID THAT SHE DIDN'T EVEN OWN A PURCHASE RECEIPT (BUT THEY WERE SUPPOSDLY A NEW PAIR OF SLACKS) AND WANTED US TO PAY HER FOR THE PANTS ANYWAYS. SINCE THIS INCIDENT WE HAVE CHANGEED OUR POLICY AND NOW MAKE ALL OUR CUSTOMERS SIGN BOTH COLORED RECEIPTS WHEN THEY PICK UP THEIR ORDER SO NO ONE CAN SAY THAT THEY HAVEN"T RECEIVED THEIR CLOTHES EVEN THOUGH WE DELIVERED IT TO THEM.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Again, the company is accusing me of lying about picking up the pants. Like I am running some elaborate scam involving the Revdex.com to make a $50 profit. I never claimed that the pants were new. I had purchased them over a month prior o the incident and had not gotten around to get them hemmed. The only reason the company gave me the money for the services back is because the woman that actually took my order and told me she could not find the pants ADMITTED THEY MUST HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ANOTHER PERSON. It is ridiculous to imply that I am somehow making all of this up. The company never even apologized to me and the owner was upset that his employee gave me a $13 refund for the services I did not receive. Those pants were Tahari pants purchased at Macy's and cost well over $50. I am willing to settle for $50 while still taking a loss. This is unacceptable and until I receive my money AND an apology for the accusations I will not be satisfied. Again, the company still REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOSS OF MY PROPERTY. Instead, continuing to attempt to shift the blame to the customer. Not satisfied. Final Business Response
