NIS constructions was performing work on the roof at my apartment complex and were negligent and reckless. They were throwing roofing materials off the roof and into the parking lot rather than disposing of them in the provided construction dumpsters and as a result shattered the sunroof to my car. They have refused to give me their insurance information and requested to pay out of pocket, however the incident occurred on 2/15 and I have yet to receive reimbursement for the damages. They have completely stopped responding to my emails.
Repair I would like to be fully reimbursed for the the costs incurred to repair the damage to my car.
first accused our workers of blowing something down from the roof onto her sunroof and breaking her sunroof. She was asked to provide photos of what caused the damage. She sent pictures of our workers on the roof with a blower and some photos of her damaged car. She never provided us with a picture of what caused her sunroof to break. Now she is accusing that something was thrown from the roof.
At that time, the owner of NIS Construction decided to go ahead and cover the damages to the car. *** was asked to get an estimate from a reputable shop and we would pay the repair shop. She insisted on getting cash from us and we refused to do that. She called the company phone line and talked to Desira Wilson at the office. The language she used toward Desira was extremely vulgar and *** was not willing to communicate in an acceptable manner. Due to ***'s hostile attitude, Desira was not able to make her understand that we needed an estimate from a reputable repair shop and we would pay the repair shop.
She has recently sent us a new invoice for the repair from a reputable repair shop. Due to the coronavirus, we have not spend a fair amount of time at the office to complete our assessment. We have been in contact with her insurance company and are waiting for them to send us information on this case.

This response from NIS Constructions is inaccurate and includes false accusations. After speaking with Wade Beaty, the foreman on the job, about the incident, I provided an estimate from a reputable shop as requested. I was told by Wade that a check would be issued for the repairs. At no point did I insist on getting cash from the company. I was more than willing to file a claim through their insurance company, but NIS would not provide me with their insurance information. Wade indicated they would be paying out of pocket. When I initially contacted NIS about the damages, Desira called me a liar and accused me of fraud. She was also not communicating in an acceptable manner. I was very frustrated by this and did not handle myself appropriately and for that I do apologize. However, saying I was "extremely vulgar" is a gross overstatement. As mentioned in my initial complaint, this incident occurred on 2/15, about 1 month prior to the Covid-19 related lock downs. There was ample time prior to handle the issue.
I have communicated directly with NIS that my insurance company is not involved in the out of pocket costs I paid to repair my car. The repair costs were less than my deductible. Reaching out to my insurance company for more information on the case will not resolve this issue.
