Back in October, my husband and I went shopping at the *** location of My Car Store. I know *** is their main location. My husband put down $500 as a "deposit" for a 2015 Ford F150. The next day, we put down an additional $2500 as a down payment, as we were promised that we would get a monthly payment of around $375. I saw that there was a sign posted that said "$500 deposit is non-refundable," but was assured by my sales representative, *** (I believe that was his name) and the *** that any money that was exchanged would be returned to me if we decided against the car. We signed a BVA to take the vehicle for 72 hours, and a credit check was signed. We didn't receive any copies of anything from the dealership. Again, I was reassured that all of my money would be returned to me. We could not come to agreement over the price, and returned the truck. The dealership was not returning our deposit and down payment in a timely manner, and my husband then contacted the bank to retrieve our money. Our money was returned into our account through the bank. The dealership disputed the claim with our bank, and now our bank is returning our $3000 to them. The dealership is taking $3000 for a truck that I never purchased. A contract was never signed, a sale price was never negotiated, rates were not finalized. I was told by the bank (USAA) to dispute this with the dealership. No one would ever return my calls. The ***, *** called me yesterday, and I was told that I returned the vehicle after our agreement (which I was encouraged to do by the ***, being told that it was completely fine as we worked out our agreement), and that the mileage that I added to the truck made it unsellable, and that he was not "motivated to sell" and that we had already "left them with two bad reviews." I know that mileage can be charged at a maximum of fifty cents per mile, and that there was no way I added enough miles to make this truck unsellable. After going back and forth, I was basically told that they had no intention of returning my money, and was told not to call the business again.
I received your information from Revdex.com that you will be handling my complaint. I’ve attached documents that my bank received from My Car Store. They have lied to my bank. My husband did not put down $500 as a “test drive,” nor did we put down an additional $2500 as an “extended test drive.” The truck was offered on a BVA, and the money was a deposit and then a down payment as we tried to come to an agreement on terms. My husband also does not work for the oil fields. He works in pharmaceuticals, and did not put “900 miles” on the truck. They have not provided a copy of the BVA, nor any evidence to support the claim of mileage. Thank you so much for your help in this matter!Sincerely,***—I’m a newlywed and haven’t legally changed my name yet)
Starting off my My Car Store experience, i’m on the lot picking out my new car and due to my low down payment I was told the only vehicle that fit me was a 2002 toyota Camry (current year being 2019). The car had 200,000 miles on it and the check engine light was on so I pleaded for other options. Due to low down payment I was told that was not possible. They told me that the car drove fine and that if any mechanical issues came down the line to contact them and they would work with me getting it taken care of so I had nothing to be worried about. Down the line of owning the vehicle it messed up on me and I gave them the call as they said. They came to get the vehicle and had it for two to three weeks. Each call I gave to ask the status no one would ever have any answers for me. My car note is bi weekly so my note rolled around and I got a phone call hounding me for the payment. I asked the status on the car before I gave them my money because I still haven’t heard a thing from them. They still didn’t have an answer for me so I continued waiting patiently. A few days later I received the phone call that my car was ready, however they needed to put a new Motor in the car so I would be responsible for paying $1,091 dollars. Getting the car back all of my windows were no longer working, the check engine light was still on and I honestly didn’t feel a difference. I pointed this out to them and was told I could go check with a real mechanic my self if I wanted to but the mechanics they have are not professionaly certified so they don’t know much when it comes to cars and did nothing about it. A few weeks pass of being back in my car and on the way to work the exact same thing happens and I pull off the road. I got a ride to work and went back to the car afterwards. When I checked the oil stick (because the low oil light cane on during the vehicle’s stopping) it showed that it was empty/low so I poured some in then checked stick to make sure. there was no oil on the floor under the car, however while i’m driving it is being spit out of my exhaust. the motor is not holding oil and if I was charged $1,091 for a “new motor” then I shouldn’t have any motor issues. If it does, I shouldn’t be responsible for it because I was charged for a “new motor.” I called to let them know, and I was told that it is my problem because I test drove the car. This company is money hungry, and do not stand by their words. I don’t feel it is right I should be Charged $8,000 for a 2002 Toyota Camry (Kelly blue book valued at $4,500,) charged a repo/towing fee of about $200 every single time they looked at the vehicle, make all payments in full and ontime, and go through the things I have went through dealing with My Car Store. This is my story, and I hope there is something that can be done to help me in this situation.
The vehicle was purchased "AS-IS/NO WARRANTY", however we did repair the vehicle and did not charge the customer as stated above. The customer did notify us of other mechanical issues on 12/19/19, and we did bring the car back for repairs. The customer then notified us that he no longer wants the vehicle and voluntarily surrendered it to My Car Store. We notified customer that we will pursue any further action on this account.
Since the third day of purchase my Saturn Vue has not performed properly. On the fourth day of purchase I spoke with My Car Store about the problem I was having with the vehicle. I also provided video footage of the issue at hand. Due to the automatic Start in the vehicle it continues to shut down while driving. This has happened on several occasions. They took the car for repairs for about 24 hours picking it up from a local community center where my children attend. Shortly after less than seven days I experience the exact same problem. At this point we were able to get the car back started to deliver the car to the Carlot to be maintenance. Shortly After the car was returned I started experiencing the same problems. The car like then asked me to bring the car in for repair for the third time. I had a appointment the next day that I could not reschedule. They assured me that they would contact me with another schedule for the vehicle to have maintenance performed. I have been waiting to have the vehicle picked up from my place of residence yet they have not picked the vehicle up. I have not been able to use my own transportation sense 11/29/19.
The vehicle was purchased AS-IS, NO WARRANTY, and we have a signed disclosure from the customer agreeing to those terms. We did however repair the vehicle at no cost to the customer. The vehicle was repaired again a 2nd time but the customer did not want to wait for the vehicle the 2nd time. The customer actually voluntarily surrendered the vehicle to us and signed off allowing us to keep the vehicle as a full satisfaction of the signed financial agreement.
I brought a 10,000 car from my car store and soon as I drove it off the lot took it 2 the car wash the ceiling started leaking bad and the check engine light came on took it straight back to the dealer when *** said they will fix it but didn the car is not safe on the road 7 lights came on brake petal switch one circuit performance catalyst system threshold bank to cruise control/brake switch circuit malfunction exhaust gas recircultion sensor and it hasn’t been 30 days yet and all these problem I don feel like the car is safe on the road also I think they lie to get a inspection sticker cause I took it 2 a Mechanic
And he said it won’t pass inspection but they r tellin me it passed I just need help in this situation thanks
Vehicle was purchased on 9/19/19 from our lot, and was clearly purchased "AS-IS/no warranty". Customer signed acknowledgment that there was no warranty implied or stated, and accepted the terms of that contract and took delivery of the vehicle that same day.
Customer did have concerns with vehicle post-sale, and on 10/12/19, we did make repairs to vehicle at no charge to the customer. We also had customer return vehicle a week later for some repairs to the convertible top, also at no charge to the customer. Customer is still in use and possession of vehicle as of this day, and has expressed no other concerns. She made a payment in compliance with the contract on 11/1/19.
Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns.
