I just opened and started a Mutual of America account about two months ago and rolled over money from my previous employer. I called mutual American inquiring about a withdrawal from my retirement account. I was lied to by the representative.It appears that the money was sent to the wrong account. I received the statements today 18,357.96 whet into the correct account ending in *** The blank check was sent with the request form, however, you sent 4858.05 to an account I have no idea ending in 0247. When I called today to inquire about my withdrawal on the form I put 28,000 I was wondering why I only received $18,357 in my account on Friday. I didn’t think that taxes would be $10,000 I was told today that they (Mutual of Amerca) put too many zeros on the second deposit which is why I didn’t receive. But they will correct it and I will receive it shortly and that was at 2 o’clock today. It is now 8 pm I got home today and received the statements of the withdrawal transactions That told the truth of what happened to my money. The documents revealed my money was deposited into the wrong account as to right now I still have not received my funds. I am very disappointed with the whole process almost $5000 is a lot of money to be deposited into the wrong account.

Unable to login, unable to get help over the phone or via email. They wont help me unless I fill out a paper form that they have to send me, and that they are sending to an incorrect address that will just get sent back to them and not forwarded to me. I don't understand why I can't just get help. This is insane and literally the most backwards policy.

I recently contacted MOA to close my 401K. I had been out of work for 7 months and started to struggle with bills. My first phone call to MOA I informed them of this and that I would like to close my account and have the funds electronically transferred to my bank account. I was told they have to contact my employer to verify that I am no longer employed and they would send the forms that day and that I should receive them within 5 days. I was told during this call that they did not have the ability to send the forms any other way. Two weeks later still no forms. I call again. They updated their records but never sent out the forms, again I was told they would mail out that day. The waiting begins again. Another week goes by and still no withdrawal forms. Another call to MOA. I asked if I can pick up the forms at a local office to which I was told yes, driving an hour out of my way to pick them up and another hour the next day to return them along with a copy of a voided check for the electronic funds transfer. I was told money would be in my account in 3 business days. Five days later the funds were not transferred to my account. I contacted my bank who could not find anything pending or rejected. I contacted MOA and was told they mailed out a check the day I dropped off the paperwork. They could not explain why instead of the electronic funds transfer they decided to send me a check. Not confident at all that I will receive the check as I still never received any of the paperwork that they claimed to have sent prior. Extremely disappointed with MOA it is concerning that they fail to have the ability to mail out forms (more then once) and failed to electronically transfer the withdrawal as requested the request.
