Last Sunday night (~02:00 our time), our Museter- hosted stream disappeared again. I tried to log in to the Museter "Control Panel" to do the all-too-common restart, but found that the whole of Museter.com had disappeared from the Internet altogether.
Several hours later I made repeated attempts to call the company, but received constant busy tone - either they were inundated with calls, or they'd taken the phone off the hook...
I persisted with my attempts to contact them, and on Wednesday I registered a complaint with the Vermont BBB (for all the good that will do).
I relocated our stream to another hosting company in another part of the USA, and - so far - everything's gone smoothly.
In retrospect, I should have done this move much earlier, because Museter have NEVER responded to fault tickets, and had issues with dropping the stream arbitrarily for a while - I had always managed to restart the stream without further problems, but I should have been forewarned!
I cancelled my PayPal automatic payment to the company, and fully expect the usual rude email demanding payment!
I run a small internet radio station, based in *** Museter have provided our streaming service for almost four years, and until recently, the service was OK. Recently, we have had a few issues with the service they provide:
1. Disconnecting our stream when they (incorrectly) claim we have exceeded our agreed data rate. This is impossible for several good technical reasons, but we keep being disconnected.
2. Failing to update their site security certificates. This causes our listeners to receive warnings that the radio streams are "dangerous" or "untrusted", causing us to lose listeners.
3. Failing to respond to tickets raised on their fault reporting system - not even an acknowledgement of receipt.
As of May this year (2019) I have been unable to contact this company. I am still receiving monthly billing requests, notifications, etc.
I actually made an initial request to upgrade my service and got no response. After 2 months of nothing, I just used the automated account system to cancel and close my account.
The automated system gives an error, and will not allow you to cancel the account.
The following month I was billed again. I contacted ***, and explained the situation.
*** tried to contact them for 2 weeks as well to no avail. I was refunded my fee, and the assigned payment method was disabled.
I am no longer having payments deducted, but the attempt, failure, and notification is still happening every month.
I tried using their ticketing system, continue to try their phone number, email, and direct mail with no results.
Since it is nearly the end of the year - I can only assume there are others in my situation, or soon will be.
Since it is simply for server usage, I imagine (just like me) most people have automatic payments going, the system is working, so who knows until a change is needed right? I have no idea how long this was a problem before I needed help.
Thank you.
