I recently hired MulchMan to re-sod and re-mulch my front yard. William was very pleasant to work with. However, the quality of the service did not reflect what I paid for. I attempted to call to call William on the phone to discuss and he recommended I send an email to "management". I did and received no response, so posting the contents here:
I'm not one to be confrontational or to complain, but in this case I feel I should make you aware that I'm not a happy customer, and at this point would direct people away from your services. I have several neighbors I have had conversations with. I'm very disappointed that more than $2k dollars later, while I have a yard that looks better than it did, I still don't have a yard that I am proud of.
For starers, the amount sod and mulch required was under-estimated; they couldn't finish on the first day. They had to make a returning trip, and then still couldn't finish the sod, and the sod they brought came from a different source, so had a different look to it, and had to make a third trip. That in itself I can, overlook, because you eventually did come through and finish the job.
Prior to the service, I had a Sentricon termite system installed. Every unit in the front bed was covered with weed mat and mulch. I had to poke around for quite a bit to discover and uncover each unit. Also there were about 5 sprinkler heads that were sodded over, so I had to track those down and cut the sod up so the heads would function.
Two weeks into the sod, while the sod itself seems to be taking just fine, there are a few issues. The old grass is beginning to poke through in quite a few places. And dollar weeds are really poking through in the seams. This tells me that the ground wasn't properly prepped. I watched them do the work, I don't think they properly tilled the entire yard. I did question them about it at the time and the sentiment was that they were not worried about it and that the underlying grass should die; apparently not.
Also, the discussion about laying mulch described 2 to 3 inches of mulch. I think there is barely one inch across the yard. There are still handfuls of places where I can see the weed mat through the mulch. Good thing I asked for the weed mat (which wasn't initally suggested) because otherwise I think there isn't enough mulch to prevent weeds, and in-fact I'm still getting weeds in some places.
Photos of above described issues of thin mulch, old grass, and old weeds.

Around August 3, 2017, we contracted Mulch MAN LLC to install French drain systems on our property. Since then
I have noticed some deterioration of the channel boxes (six of them) installed. I sent them photos of the issue
and requested that the errors be corrected. I was told at that time that the business might be in the process of
being sold. The new owners might not honor the responsibility of correcting their errors. That leaves me with
$1200.00 of unfinished work. Maybe you can contact these people and convince them to complete the job as
contracted or have them refund the $1200.00 for the poor installation of the channel boxes.
