Extremely disappointed with the service. Never have I been for an oil change where your car is taken apart without your permission.
On Christmas eve I went in for the first time to Mr.Lube (as I had about 6 hours of driving to do over the next few days and wanted to get my oil changed). I thought it was rather fancy being offered coffee or tea while waiting in my car, little did I know that my $50 oil change was going to end up costing me $430 dollars.
First I was told what oil my car needed, but I know what my car needs and proceeded to say no thank you please just the regular 5w20 that I always get.
Next thing I know this gentleman is standing at my window showing me a spark plug (first off if its included in the oil change it should be told to the owner of the vehicle) DO NOT just start taking someones car apart. I have a mechanic thank you!
So now I am being told they need replacing in the new year, that's fine. I am here for an oil change that's it.
Next I am being told I need a new battery, okay fine that I will replace because its running low and I need to do a lot of driving so okay.
Well what should have been a 20 minute service turned into an hour and a half of ***.
After putting the new battery in and the spark plugs back my car was shaking like crazy and this happened each of the three times I was asked to start it (just at an idle).
The two gentleman working on my car have no idea whats happening or why its shaking and leave and both go get onto their cell phones.
At this point I have now called my dad and brother to come meet me because I am livid and my car is now broken.
Both men had to call in the owner/service manager/mechanic to come look at my car. He still could not figure out what was happening.
I left paying $250 bill for the oil change and battery but had to take it to the dealership a few days later as everything was closed for Christmas.
Another $180 dollars later they told me when changing a *** battery certain things need to be cleaned and done and they did not do anything that was required. They also said they completely reset my cars memory and it has to relearn everything, and should not have messed with my spark plugs either.
I took my bill back and Mr.Lube offered to cover $70 bucks that's it.
***. How dare anyone take your car apart without your permission for 1, let alone not know how to fix what is now broken, when your car was driven in perfectly fine.
I made sure to let the woman who walked in behind me know to turn around and go elsewhere. I explained to her what was happening and she changed her mind and left.
I have never been more upset especially on Christmas Eve when I was on the way to spend time with family.
*** all vehicle owners should be made aware of your "policy" and what is included in your service. You should never just start taking someones care apart bottom line.
