I answered Moyers ad for a free A/C check. They sent a Tech on May 16, 2016. The tech used a viewing scope to look at the heat exchanger in my propane furnace. He had me look at the screen and said there were several cracks in the tubes and I should not heat with this unit. He said if this was the heating season he would red flag the unit and I could not use it until the heat exchanger was replaced. He asked the age of the unit (11 years) and said it's out of warranty and replacing the heat tubes only would not be a good option. He then proceeded to check the outside compressor unit and when he connected the gauges there was a release of freon gas while connecting and disconnecting the gauges. He said the pressures were OK.. He wrote up the faulty heat tubes and gave me two estimates of $4929 to replace the heating and air handling unit. and $6005 - $7225 for replacing everything. (I have both documents) A week later I returned from a vacation and the A/C unit was froze up and not cooling. I called another HVAC dealer who checked the freon charge and added 1.5 lbs of freon to get the unit operating again. This dealer checked on the warranty of the heat tubes and found there is a 20 year warranty. The second dealer had a new unit shipped in and replaced the tubes a few weeks later. Upon inspection of the old tubes there was no evidence of cracks in the old tubes. I won't make any assumption about Moyers, but this is what I experienced with Moyers..
