We reserved a 50-amp full hookup for Arrival August 3, 2014, departing August 10, 2014. The next day we received an e-mail indicating they were all booked up for Aug 3-Aug 10 for 50-amp spaces. Because we wanted to stay at this campground (it does have nice trees and shade), we adjusted our trip and asked them to find us 7 consecutive days where we could have a 50-amp full hookup. They e-mailed back and let us know that they could accomodate us August 10 to August 17. So we said no problem, change our reservation date to the 10-17th. We paid the first nights deposit which I understood is non-refundable for no-show. The problem came into being that we did show and they had rented out all the 50-amp spaces, even though we changed our dates of vacation to work around the campgrounds schedule to ensure we had a 50-amp hookup. They tried to put us in a 30-amp hookup that is on a hillside. I told them that I needed 50-amp to which they replied that they could sell us a converter. I indicated that was not going to work. They refunded to us the weeks charges except the first night. The lady working the front office indicated that it is company policy to never refund the first night. I indicated to her that she cannot keep our money since they did not provide what we paid for. She indicated that it is not her decision and that it was the decision of the owner. I asked to speak to the owner. She indicated the owner was not there and would not be back until later in the evening. I asked her to pass a message onto the owner that I will give him 2 weeks to issue a credit to my credit card for the first night's stay or I would dispute the credit card charge. She indicated that she would pass the information on. I did not receive (after 2 weeks) a credit for the first nights stay to my credit card. I filed the dispute today and my bank indicated that I will received a permanent credit. Unfortunately I should not have been swizzled like that. It's bad business practice. No company can charge you for a service that they did not and cannot provide. I felt very swindled by the campground. As pretty as the campground may be, their business practices are what is earning them this negative review.
