Moses Volkswagen Reviews (%countItem)

I took my wife's car, a 2011 Honda Pilot, into Moses because the battery kept going dead even though it was a new battery and had even already been exchanged once. I had taken the car to a local mechanic who had told me there was a significant current draw and that it would have to be fixed by a dealer. We took it Moses and their first conclusion was it's the battery, I told them it I didn't think it was the battery because it was a new battery and had already been exchanged once just a few days ago. However I picked up the battery and took it to *** where it was purchased. They tested the battery, said it was good, but exchanged it anyway. Took it back to Moses and they then tried to tell us they couldn't find a draw and thought nothing else was wrong. I reminded them again what the other local mechanic had found and that this was now the 3rd new battery and there had to be a draw. Then on Monday the Pilot didn't start so they knew I was right. I took the vehicle in on Friday April 10th. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have given them so much time but with everything going on I tried to be patient and also figured other dealers might have people laid off too so we would probably have a long wait and have to start all over if I took it somewhere else. So it took them 10 days to determine where the draw was supposedly coming from. By that point I was getting ready to take it somewhere else. Since I did not want to start over, I asked him if they were certain they were right. They told me yes so I allowed them to fix it. Two days later on April 24th, we picked up her Pilot. Two days after that the Pilot didn't start. Took it back to Moses and they proceeded to have the car for another 4 days and told me again they could not find a draw. I then picked up the car and took it to *** who correctly diagnosed the car and fixed it in 2 days for less money than what Moses had charged to not fix the vehicle in 3 weeks.

Bought a used car. Later noticed it had been wrecked at some point with damage to rear of car to point of taillight poping out when lift gate is shut cause of being out of line with body and poor paint repair to other side of car. Front door sticks when shuting possibly frame/body damage front bumper falling off. Concerned about the safety of car for family. Sales person said "it happens sometimes, that's the chances you take, there is nothing I can do about it"

Company has advised Revdex.com that this matter has been resolved.

On 8-16-17 we purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, on the way home from the initial sale, we had major issues happen with it, and immediately took it back to the shop for repair. It was in the shop from 8-17-17 to 8-31-17. The issues were supposed to have been taken care of. $1600 worth of repairs were supposedly done, but it continued leaking oil, was told it was possibly "oil excess". Fast forward 2 months, and we took it to have the oil changed at a different location.. was immediately told it had barely any oil in it. Fast forward another month, engine starts knocking and has noticeable issues. I took it to a mechanic and was immediately told the engine needs to be replaced, that the issues were preexisting and obviously 'known' upon leaving the dealership. Moses Honda offers a "thorough" 112 point inspection, yet $1600 in faults weren't noticed when it passed inspection initially? Now, 4K miles later, we need a new engine? I've contacted the dealership and gotten passed around to numerous sales managers, basically insisting the last person to change the oil is at fault. They will not take responsibility. My husband has recently test driven two different vehicles at this location and found oil leakage in one and an oil light on in the second one. These vehicles aren't being properly inspected and being sold to innocent customers.

To whom it concerns,This letter is in response to complaint ID #***. While understanding the customers frustration we would like to first point out that the vehicle was sold with the agreement from the customer that the dealership would cover the vehicle with a limited warranty for a period of 30 days from date of purchase. Our dealership, as promised, paid for the timing chain and oil leak repair in full when it was brought to our attention. Customer did not pay for this repair out of pocket. Until 12/28/17, we had not received another complaint from the customer. That is more than 3 months outside of the agreed upon warranty period for the vehicle. If customer had Issues at an earlier time, we were not made aware of any concerns. We have not seen the vehicle since the initial repair and have not had the opportunity to check on validity of customers claim. We have no reason to doubt customers concern but need to verify with our own service department. As to the claim we "knowingly” sold the vehicle with a bad engine, that is patently false. Vehicle was making no "ticking" sound for 4 months so obviously the timing chain repair was done correctly. If the vehicle had leaked out all the oil in 2 months, then the customer would have had oil all over the bottom of vehicle and where they park the vehicle. Again, we had no complaints filed for this happening. Brand new vehicles that are less than 4 months old occasionally need engines. While unfortunate, it is not beyond reason for a 7 year old, 94000 mile vehicle to run into an unforeseen engine problem in 4 months, that the dealership could not predict. Moses Honda Volkswagen will certainly try to come to an agreeable resolution with the customer. We need to start with the vehicle being looked at by our mechanics.Sincerely,J***General Manager

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]
The vehicle did leak oil from day 1, there was oil all over the oil pan and the driveway daily! Again, we knew that you supposedly fixed the issue and thought it was just excess oil. It wouldn't have been resolved anyway because I barely got a response from anyone at the dealership, and only one call back, which resulted in the manager telling me that he'd speak with the general manager and have him call me back, that was weeks ago! Once the equinox started knocking really bad, My husband stopped by your dealership and test drove two other vehicles, only to find MORE oil issues. Why would anyone want to do business with you? Knowing there's issues. Luckily, for us and you, we were able to trade the equinox for a brand new vehicle, although we lost a substantial amount of money in the process. I needed a vehicle to drive back and forth with my two children, and after being stranded 2 hours away from home, I had to do something. Your sketchy business practice needs to be resolved.
Regards,***erts

In response to complaint ID not be resolved. Customer no longer has possession of the vehicle to which they filed complaint. Customer did not, by their own admission, bring the oil leak to our attention. Customer never returned to our location to attempt to trade vehicle. In an email they assert that we appraised the car and would not give them satisfactory amount for the equinox. We keep electronic appraisals and have no record of that equinox being back at our store. I'm just guessing, but believe they went to location next door. That store is not part of our dealership nor is it owned by the same dealer group Simply has same family name. In summation, we never heard from customer for nearly 4 months after the initial repair, customer no longer has the vehicle in question, we never had the vehicle at our facility to address concerns or even verify the issues in the complaint. We responded to this complaint within the timeframe requested by the Revdex.com. Customer traded vehicle within that timeframe ending our ability to provide resolution.
