July 4 2017 issues began with windshield wipers malfunctioning during rain. I scheduled an appoint with morgan McClure to have the issue fixed. I had also had issues with the key getting stuck in the ignition as well as issues with the transmission, the RPMs would exceed over 5000. I took my 2015 chevy Colorado to the service department when they told me nothing was wrong with the transmission or the key ignition. They did replace a fuse for the windshield wipers. I picked my truck up Approx 2 days later. On the next day of driving the vehicle, the wipers once again got stuck in an upward position during rain and the key was also sticking in the ignition as before. I took the vehicle back to Morgan McClure. They told me the junction box was blown and this is why the wipers didn't work, that was replaced. Once again they said nothing was wrong with the key ignition, that they even had the owner of the dealership test drive the truck. I picked my truck up the following day. Not more than 2 days later the wipers once agin did not work, which is a serious safety issue and also the key was still sticking in the ignition. I left my vehicle at Morgan McClure service department for several days, they informed the key was sticking due to lint on the key probably from my pocket. The wipers were checked and they said there was no issues. I have contacted GM corporate to discuss the issue with a supervisor, in turn they did not help me, stated they could not help me due to the dealership being privately owned, but a GM vehicle is still a GM vehicle. I picked up my vehicle for the 3rd time July 27th. As I was driving it began to storm with heavy rain. Once again my wipers failed and I couldn't see the road. I had left the dealership approx 4 hours prior to this happening. I informed Tim Morgan, the owner of the dealership about this matter. I have been told by Tim Morgan as well as the GM supervisor that if the issue was not resolved a new vehicle of the same year or newer would need to be issued to me. This being the 4th time I've had to get a rental from the dealership because they can't seem to find out what the issue is with my vehicle and even the service manager, *** told me he did not know what was wrong with the truck. I have discussed all these issues with the owner of Morgan McClure as well as GM without a resolution to the problem. This is a safety issue that needs to be fixed. I have had 4 rental vehicles and have barely drive my truck during the month of July and am paying $500 a month for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive. The business is making little effort to find the problem and the service manager at Morgan McClure has consistently blamed me for the problems. I have had this truck for approximately 3 months. I was not told of any issues with the vehicle when it was purchased.
We have been working with Mr. since day one. His problems were both intermittent and did not occur when they were brought in. We were cking and could not find a problem. The motor on the windshield wiper burned out and we replace it on one of the visits, but he continued to have issues. The problem finally occurred while at our shop and we found a loose connection in the wiring. We repaired it and replaced the windshield wiper motor again. This has resolved this issue for Mr..The transmission issue he complained about was intermittent also. We finally isolated the problem and have ordered the part. It was the gear shift which contained a switch that was intermittently going out. That is why he could not get the key out once. There was no issue with his transmission nor his key switch. The problem was the shifter and the switch located in it.The entire time we have been trying to help Mr. and repair the vehicle, we have not charged him for anything and have gave him a new 2017 Chevrolet Silverado to drive the entire time his vehicle has been down at no cost to him. He bought a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado so we gave him and upgrade to drive. We have done everything we could when he came to try to solve his problems and we have never turned him away. When the part comes in, this should solve all of Mr.’s issues. If you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.***, CPAControllerMorgan-McClure Chevrolet Buick Cadillac, Inc.
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I do not accept this due to the fact I had to take the truck back again on August 8th, 2017 for the key being stuck in the ignition. I have been frustrated with these issues. Yes they did let me drive a new Silverado as a rental that is considered used due to having mileage on that vehicle, also I have full factory warranty and they have to give me something to drive while my truck is in the garage for the fifth time. I have almost wrecked twice due to the wipers and I have told the dealership that had happened and they acted like they did not care. I have also been late to work due to these problems. My truck is still currently in the garage at this time. I do not understand how they just now caught the wiring issue with the wipers if they were using a computer to find the problems. Also with the key getting stuck in the ignition. I mean its not like I am going to lie about these issues when I just got this vehicle in March and has full warranty. I bought the vehicle with 13,000 some miles and has 14,000 some miles. I have always been a customer with morgan mcclure and had the same problems when I bought my first vehicle through Morgan Mcclure in Castlewood. My truck is considered used but only has a small amount of mileage on it and had full factory warranty and has been nothing but a inconvenience for me.
