We replaced this customer's old steam boiler and installed a new one. She had many issues with her home, as she stated in her complaint. The old steam system was quite dirty. Old steam systems tend to build up sludge and corrosion within the pipes and this effects the ability of
the new boiler to make steam properly as the water inside the boiler starts surging violently - causing safety controls to shut down the system until it calms down. This translates into an interruption of the steam process and the house struggling to get warm. Each time she called, we sent technician(s) and they would clean or 'skim' the boiler water system to remove these contaminants from the boiler water but, as more and more contaminants continued to return to the boiler from the remaining house piping, it would begin surging again and again. It's a frustrating process for both she and us as we continue to clean and skim the boiler water over and over until it reaches a point where no further contaminants reach the boiler and the boiler can make steam continually and efficiently. We believe the situation was finally solved on about Nov *** with our last service call to the customer (and the last time we cleaned and skimmed the boiler water). We have not heard from her since and I am having our service dept check with her today to verify all is OK. If it is not, we will return again and clean it again.
