Moody Brothers Ltd./Bargain Harley's

I'm building a pool and my contractor used Oldcastle APG South, Inc. as the supplier for the pavers. I've paid everything for my pool in full out of my own pocket, yet, I received a "Notice to Owner" from Oldcastle stating that if they don't receive payment in full, they will put a lien on my house. Additionally, when they receive payment for the pavers, I must get a them to give me a lien waiver.

I'm upset that they didn't approach me or the contractor to get full payment up front. I would've been perfectly fine paying in full for the pavers to reduce their liability if that's what the want. Instead, they send me a "Notice to Owner" that requires me to get a lien waiver after I've paid them in full.

I understand that contractors probably stiff them on payments, but as an honest homeowner, I don't appreciate receiving a "Notice to Owner" without Oldcastle approaching me first asking me for full payment up front. It's a bad way to do business and left a sour taste in my mouth. It also makes me lose confidence in this company. I will not do business with a company that insists on threatening me with liens on my home rather than simply asking for full payment upfront.
