Recently we had some minor landscape work performed by Rakes and Ladders We were initially presented with an estimate for $715, and following the work an invoice for over $ On enquiring with Jeff ***, the owner, on the discrepancy, he advised that the $was for supplies only, and did not include labour costs Apart from referencing his labour rate of $per hour for two workers, the only other number on the estimate was $715, which stood on its own at the middle of the page I showed this estimate to people, including a lawyer friend, and we all came to the same conclusion, that the final and full amount of the estimate was $ Mr [redacted] has taken no responsibility for his very poor presentation of an estimate, only showing an interest in being paid in full I found his estimate presentation and layout to be very misleading, and felt we had been taken advantage of with respect to the final amount quoted I caution any prospective customers of Rakes and Ladders to ensure they have clarified verbally and in writing on the full and final cost of the work to be performed

I used Rakes & Ladders for a full landscape of both front and back yardsPrimarily pavers in the back with trees and shrubs along the perimeter and removal of all grass in front with trees & shrubs to replaceI am beyond thrilled with the entire experienceFrom consultation to quote to quality and detail of workmanship -- Jeff and his team are blue chipThey were a treat to work with and I've already recommended them to friends

We had our front yard re-done by Jeff Pope and his team at Rakes & Ladders and they did a fabulous job! The retaining wall used to be wood planks that were rotting away from improper drainage but Jeff and the guys installed brickwork instead and finished it off with tasteful landscaping(The plants are mall now but they will fill in properly.)
We have used Rakes and Ladders on other projects and are always pleased with the resultsIn fact, others were impressed with the work, too, as Jeff had neighbours and a developer stop by and request quotes from him!

I showed this estimate to 5 people, including a lawyer friend, and we all came to the same conclusion, that the final and full amount of the estimate was $715.
