Mobile Custom Installations did not diligently install my replacement car audio system. It is with very mixed emotions that I write this review/complaint - but it has been seven (7) months of phone calls without a response and I feel I've got no other recourse.Mobile Custom Installations was recommended to me by a good friend in the auto repair business. The OEM radio/navigation unit in my 2010 CX-9 died, and I reached out to [redacted] and his wife to see whether it could be repaired. It took a bit of time to arrange the initial visit (I knew from the reviews and from my friend that getting initially in contact could take a little time), but when they made the appointment, they stuck to it. I had already removed the head unit, they took it with them. Ultimately it could not be fixed so I purchased a new head unit for installation and arranged for that to be done in early December 2013 before a long drive to [redacted] and his wife arrived the morning of our departure and completed the install. I paid the $175 for the head-unit diagnosis and installation (which I thought was quite reasonable). It immediately became apparent that: (1) the [redacted] antenna would need to be relocated (he put it in the dash hoping it would provide enough line of site for it to work properly); and (2) the backup camera had not been wired up. I didn't think it was a big deal - I called [redacted], left a message, and just said we would deal with it when we were back in the area later in a week or so.That then began the pattern of non-responded to phone calls and emails which has continued to this day.Initially I thought the holidays got in the way. Then I thought that they were suffering family health or other issues. My friend didn't know what happened.I then saw that they were certainly still in business, and completing work, based on the [redacted]'s List review from early May.Multiple times since December I have asked for them to contact me, to get it scheduled, etc. or I was going to write a negative [redacted]'s List Review, make a Revdex.com complaint, etc. No response. While they seem to be good people, I find the pattern of non-responsiveness utterly unacceptable - I would suggest if looking for an install or service work to select someone else.Desired SettlementI want the work completed. I'm at the point where I will just need to go somewhere else to get it fixed.
