I was in a car accident 9/1/15 and sought treatment at Moss Chiropractic (MC).Dr. Gabrielle M referred me to a specific law firm for the purpose of representing me for settlement and promised by doing so my treatment would be covered.I signed the agreement, she said "don't worry you won't have to pay for anything". My treatment related to the accident occurred from 10/15 to 2/2016.I continued treatment separate from the accident and paid each time I was treated. However I throughout treatment MC never requested payment beyond the payments I made.I did receive notifications from my car insurance(ins.) when they made a payment. The law firm instructed me that they would be responsible for all communication regarding my medical bills with MC and the car ins. company.12/16 the law firm notified me of a settlement amount that I would receive.Four months later, MC notified me that I had a balance of thousands of dollars.I contacted the law firm and my car ins. both advising me that I should not pay the bill and that the ins. company had requested documentation from MC and would pay upon receipt of documentation.I informed MC of same.Three months later MC called me again, this time angry.I informed them of what I had previously been advised and called the law firm. The law firm suggested that I either let MC sue me or I sue the ins. company. Not wanting either, I called the ins. company, advised them of same and they said the would pay the balance and did in 11/17. Four months later, 2/18 I received a hand written note from MC stating I still owed $542.Having never seen any bill I requested an itemization of my treatment charges and payments made by the ins. company indicating why I still had a balance as my understanding was paid in full 11/17.I did receive the itemization and paid it.My complaint is about business practices.I feel I was taken advantage of esp. MC desire to have me involve legal and I suspect more treatment was given than necessary.I am better but feel MC exploited the situation.
sought chiropractic treatment at Moss Chiropractic (MC) on 10/16/2015 for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on 9/1/2015. After an initial consultation, physical examination and x-rays *** was given a detailed report of findings where Dr. Gabriella M taught *** how to read her x-rays (for better understanding of her condition), how the results of the x-rays correlated to her symptoms and explained what the most current research recommended for the treatment of her condition. This 45-minute report was given at no charge to ***. *** was informed about the time frame and procedures needed for her to reach pre-injury status. *** was then financially counseled at which time she was given a detailed explanation of the fees involved. *** agreed to the aforementioned. *** began treatment.

She was also informed that her health insurance, *** does not cover chiropractic care. *** was informed that the responsibility for payment of medical care for injuries sustained by the MVA was ultimately her responsibility but that MC would bill her auto insurance i.e. *** PIP (personal injury protection). She was also informed that *** was a difficult company to get reimbursement from and that in order for MC to be willing to wait for payment we would require that she have legal representation. *** stated in her complaint that the law firm instructed me that they would be responsible for all communication regarding my medical bills with MC and the car insurance company."
