In February 2019, my wife and I contracted with Mistry Construction for a complete remodel of our master bathroom, master closet, and kitchen, with all work to be completed concurrently. Although the work began in February and was supposed to take 8 weeks to complete, the jobs were not finished until late May. The contract states Mistry guarantees their work for one year post completion, but since May, we have had to pay for electrical repairs due to Mistry's shoddy work and unwillingness to return phone calls, texts, or emails. Additionally, Mistry has not returned calls, texts, or emails regarding repair of the garbage disposal they installed, which stopped working a few weeks after the final payment was made. In addition to the quality of overall work being substandard (extensive photos are available), from the very beginning we experienced problems with the trustworthiness of the company. In March, a member of Mistry's work crew stole five rings from our home valued at $9k, including diamond wedding, engagement, and anniversary bands. (The individual who stole the rings is reportedly still doing work for Mistry in private homes.) Mistry's employees also damaged our plaster ceiling and walls, gouged the tile floors and marble shower threshold during the installation of the shower glass, scratched our wooden floors, and chipped our acrylic tub. Worse, they consistently tried to hide or ignore the damage for which they were responsible. Additionally, Mistry tried to bill us for fake change order items, such as a fee to return a bathtub to *** despite the fact that I coordinated the return myself and shipping the tub back was free. Mistry also tried to charge us for items that were already agreed upon in the contract price and not labeled as those we would be responsible for procuring ourselves. We have serious concerns over the character and honesty of the company owners and employees and would strongly caution all homeowners against using them for renovations or repairs.
