Attn: Revdex.com Dispute Resolution DepartmentThis letter is in response to a complaint filed with the Revdex.com for Case# [redacted] Prior to this practice receiving a copy of the complaint submitted to the Revdex.com, the practice spoke to the consumer and explained that there is a difference in the type of physical needed for pre-operative clearance and what is considered a preventative, yearly physical exam Based on the type of visit, which in part determines how it is coded, and the consumer's insurance coverage, the consumer may be responsible for a copay when certain services are provided In this case, the consumer needed pre-operative clearance which is a type of physical which contains a detailed history, a detailed examination, and a medical decision making which includes counseling and/or coordination of care with other physicals in order to assess if a person is healthy enough to undergo a planned surgery this type of exam is usually requested by the surgeon and/or the anesthesiologist prior to surgery This was not a yearly physical exam, where the focus is on preventative care and recommendations for testing and labs to keep one healthy The charges were coded and billed correctly and according to the consumer's insurance company, the consumer is responsible for a copay We are sorry the consumer is unhappy but the coding and resulting charges are accurate You may contact [redacted] at [redacted] if you have any questions or need additional information.Respectfully, [redacted] ***Practice ManagerSunset Hills Adult Medicine
