Six months after returning the keys and moving out of Mission Club Apartments, I received a so-called "second notice" of a past due balance with themWe never received a first notice, and after over two-and-a-half months of trying to contact them via phone as well as emails with several paragraphs of explanation attempting to prove that we had moved out on time in accordance with our lease, we received a one-sentence long email stating that we still owe an extra month's worth of rent for the time that we had been long gone and living in our new house
The people that work here (as well as their customer service department) are completely against listening to reason and are unwilling to hear us outEven while living there, we experienced countless issues with the office not being open during posted hoursCommunication is not a strong suit of this company and it has been an incredible burden on more than one occasionI cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism at play here, and am just astounded at how poor our experience has been as tenants as well as former-tenants
I would 100% never recommend anyone to ever live or work with Mission Club apartments. The parking situation was ridiculous and unsafe. I spent many nights having to park on the furthest side of a gated (the gate to which was never closed) community from my unit and walk home to my apartment in the dark past the gym of the complex; this same gym was the site where someone was stabbed and robbed during our stay there. When we approached the staff with these concerns, they promised a better parking system and parking passes that were to be passed out to residents within the month, though that never happened. The office staff was often always rude, and never stuck to the posted office hours, though those hours didn't work well with a working person's schedule anyway. Many times we went to turn rent payment in while the office should have been open, but they would have closed early. Then when we needed to move out, I contacted the office staff to find out what we needed to do to move out cleanly and with no issues, the person who helped us originally sign our lease said that she would take note of it in our file, and that all we had to do was drop off the keys on the day we moved out, which is exactly what we did. However, they once again closed office early and we just barely got the person who was locking up at the time to let us turn in the keys. Fast forward to 8 months after moving out, 8 MONTHS, and now claiming that we had been failed to move our properly and still owe them money. Mission Club was horrible to live and work with and had a completely unacceptable way of running a business.
