This letter is in response

to a customer compliant that was submitted to the Revdex.com by

[redacted] (complaint ID [redacted]).

When the customer dropped

the shirt off for dry cleaning, we double checked the care label to verify

that there would not be an issue with dry cleaning the shirt.

Unfortunately, there was

color transfer to the body of the shirt from the shirt's company logo patch.

We do not feel we are responsible for the problem that occurred because we

followed the

manufacturer's care label instructions.

When the customer picked up

his dry cleaning order we had attached a printed letter to the order which

brought to his attention that there was a problem with the patch on the shirt.

We told him that in this

type of situation where we follow the manufacturer's care label instructions

and a problem occurs that

this is referred to as a manufacturer's defect and that the garment should be

returned to the retailer for

a refund.

The Revdex.com website has a

Consumer/Business tips section for the Drycleaning industry and has information

which supports our recommendation to the customer that the garment should be

returned to the

retailer for a refund.

To quote from the Revdex.com website:

Care information must be

permanently attached to all garments. If this information is not

present and the garment is damaged as a result, or if care instructions are

followed and the

Garment or some component part fails, the responsibility is with the manufacturer.

Your best

recourse is to go to the retailer who sold you the item. Good retail practice

requires that a store

exchange a defective
