Review: This place is one of the only few places that offers a California break and lamp inspection , my car was hit by a motorcycle and caused cosmetic damage so I had to change the title to salvage I figured it was worth keeping because their was very little wrong , it turns out that this inspection and turned into a unneeded break job estimated $600?? My breaks were fine working great and yet they said I have only 10 days to repair so I feel I was scammed bait and switched because they had the power to do so because they had the one pickoff paper I needed to submit to the DMV it made me sick how they could do this and it needs to stopDesired Settlement: Mira mesa automotive should have their business looked into and audited unfair overcharging and unprofessional business practices

On salvage vehicles the State of California requires the customer to complete a inspection of the lighting system
and the braking system in which they must be within min factory standards . Lighting system must be as it came from
the factory dot or sae certification on lights and lenses . all lights and lenses must work correctly and have no breaks
or moisture present in housings . Braking system must work correctly and be within min factory standards . Front brakes
were below min factory standards which called for replacement to be legal . Right rear wheel cylinder was leaking
hydraulic fluid requiring its replacement and bleeding of the brakes system . we did recommend resurface of front
rotors of which customer declined . Mr [redacted] was given the option of repairing the vehicle himself or at another facility .
He was told if that was his choice and that if he brought the vehicle back within 10 days the cost of the inspections would only be
half price . If we did the repairs the second test would be free . Mr [redacted] chose to have the repairs done and certificates were issued .
We gave Mr [redacted] the options for others to do the repairs . He was not forced into any repair . He was also taken into the
back room and shown what needed to be done before anything was taken apart on his vehicle .
With all due respect

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
The entire "unneeded " break job took about an hour with about $145 in parts yet I was forced to pay 4 hrs of labor charges which is a complete scam, also if I did have this phony repairs done elsewhere I would have to return to [redacted]'s shop for another inspection that I sure [redacted] would find something else and based on online yelp reviews prior customers have complained about returning and yet [redacted]'s shop still not passing so again [redacted] can say whatever he wants about how honest and fair he has been but the facts remain its a racket that [redacted] simply takes advantage of and the public and the Revdex.com need to be aware of parts are one thing but labor is where [redacted] takes profit from just read his online reviews because his shop has the power to deem what is needed in any particular case is where [redacted] sees dollar signs, someone like him should be really looked into and used as an example of how someone can rip off honest California people by taking advantage of a few hundred dollars on laws in our state, [redacted] should be ashamed of what kind of business practices he has based his career on and used as example of their are unfair and unlawful business particles in San Diego

Revdex.com:
Mr.----------------------- initial phone call concerning the need of a state Brake and Lamp certification was that he was
very unhappy with his insurance company for making him do this because of such a minor accident. I explained to Mr.---------
on the phone what would be required for him to receive the certificates for the DMV . I explained that the lights lenses and mountings had to be exactly
as they came from the factory with no breaks or cracks in the lenses and work correctly. That the brakes had to be within min factory standards.
and no hydraulic leakage . It was explained that this is a very complete inspection of both systems . After inspection of both systems
Mr.------------- was taken into the back room while his vehicle was on the rack and shown why his vehicle would not pass . He was shown that the front disc pads were below min thickness and the leakage of hydraulic fluid from the right rear wheel cylinder. He was then given
the options of fixing it himself or having the repairs done here or another garage of his choice . He was also told if he chose another repair
facility that we allowed 10 days in which if brought back we would do the inspections for 1/2 price . He chose to have the repairs done here .
The license plate lights did not work and he was allowed to install those bulbs himself while the vehicle was on the rack at no charge.
Mr. ------------ was charged 79.00 dollars labor for front brake installation and 118.50 labor for a right rear wheel cylinder removal replacement and
bleeding of the system . That is 2.5hours labor not 4 hrs . With all due respect to Mr. ---------------- I believe we have been very fair and I only
hope he understands we do not make the rules , we are only following the rules mandated by The Bureau of Automotive Repair .
We are simply the messenger .
