Review: CashLinq contacted (sent a form letter to) our business regarding a class action law suit, stating that if we did not fill out their required information on their website to opt out of a settlement, we would automatically be billed $99.00 by their business and enrolled in their Settlement Recovery Service. We neither initiated any contact with this company, nor do we believe they have any right to automatically bill our company for a service we did not request, nor desire. We believe they have absolutely no right to bill us for anything we did not request. We also wonder how many other small businesses have received the same mail - but simply dumped it as junk mail without opening the envelope. Those businesses will also find themselves billed for a service they never knew existed, nor sought any business relationship with. This seems like a scam.Desired Settlement: Prevent companies like this from operating in this manner.

Response:

Hello [redacted],

Response:

[redacted] received the referenced letter due to an ongoing payment processing relationship with The CashLINQ Group that began in 2006. The lawsuit and associated claims process is legitimate. A website has been created by the federal court to provide merchants detail regarding the lawsuit settlement and claims process – www.[redacted].com. The claims program mentioned in the letter is provided through [redacted], Inc and [redacted]. Multiple communications were sent over the past 60 days to the merchant regarding the program and the opt-out process. The CashLINQ Group sent out

additional letters and emails to the merchant to support the messages sent by [redacted], Inc.

Additional Information:

The CashLINQ Group was made aware of this concern via the Revdex.com on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 and attempted to reach [redacted]

by email and phone on September 4, 2013 and September 6, 2013 without success. If [redacted] would like assistance opting out of the program we can

assist upon receiving specific instruction from the merchant to perform this process on their behalf.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Not only is it satisfactory, I also must acknowledge that I am the one at fault. The individual who was responsible for our dealings with CashLinq had left our employment approximately one month prior to our receiving the notification from Cashlinq regarding the settlement, and the automatic fees we would be assessed should we not opt out of the lawsuit. When I asked our new bookkeeper about Cashlinq, I was informed that she didn't know anything about them. I, thus, wrongly assumed that this was a letter from a business we didn't have dealings with - and contacted Revdex.com. I apologize to Revdex.com and to CashLinq for my error.

Regards,
