Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/02/21) */ Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Mgr Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: [redacted] @haggertycars.com Unfortunately Volkswagen does not provide alternate transportation of any kind for warranty repairs and it is not part of the warranty that comes with the vehicleMike Haggerty as a courtesy gesture to its customers does have a fleet of loaner vehicles that we provide at no charge when a customer is in needThese vehicles may not accommodate people and they are there to act as a transportation option for our customers, so they are not stranded without any vehicleJust to reiterate Volkswagen corporation does not offer any form of transportation as part of the warranty Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2014/02/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This response is not acceptableWhile it is courteous to provide a loaner while one's vehicle is being serviced, does it really matter if it was covered under warranty or paid out of pocket? Why is the consumer being punished because a new vehicle came with a warranty? And how many families you know of with more than 7-passenger vehicle to a householdThe whole purpose consumers usually choose to purchase vehicles from most companies is due to customer service not just the vehicles because all vehicles do the same thing; they can be drivenIt should be common customer service to accommodate the customer; in this instance it was explained to the dealership the vehicle being serviced was the only vehicle to accommodate my family in which I have three children and younger who at all times while in the vehicle must be in a safety seatI am not asking to be accommodated for pleasure, but for the safe travels of my family according to the law of our state! Again most people do not purchase minivans because they want to be stylishEven though Volkswagen usually do not make mini vans, I purchased one from the company because of the company's longevitySometimes corporations should do what's right, because it's certainly not illegal! I will keep in mind how "courteous" this corporation is when it's time to purchase a new vehicle when my children will no longer need car seatsNext time it may be more suitable to patronize a corporation who can identify with the working American familyAnd not to mention it is not the consumer's fault that parts are not in stock for repair Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2014/03/04) */ As stated in our previous responseThe manufacture does not allow for rental vehicles and the loaner fleet that we have is to supply the customer with alternate transperationThis transpertation may not alwasy be suitable in every occasion or for every customer situationWe strive to keep our customers 100% satisfied and we always try to meet our customers expectationsUnfortunatly we do not have every vehicle for every situation that may arise
Hello Mr [redacted] ,I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with the vehicleWe would like to offer you your $that it cost you at the local [redacted] dealerPlease contact Pat [redacted] 708-***- [redacted] for this
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 7, 2014/03/17) */ To Whom It May Concern: On February 19, [redacted] did come in and she put a $deposit down on a vehicle with her boyfriends debit cardShe purchased a vehicle the next day and used cash for a down payment There was a little confusion with the refund because it was under a different name and it did take a little longer to refund the $but it was refunded on February 27, After we refunded the money it took a couple days to show back in the customers accountAs far as giving the vehicle back we did offer to let Ms [redacted] trade it in on a different vehicle or to buy it back from her which we are still willing to do for her Sincerely Rocco Cesario Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 9, 2014/03/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) A refund or exchange from what they told me would put my 3500$ in jeopardyI was informed I would lose that 3500$ and owe 1000$ on my loanSo I would end up paying 4500$ just to give the car backThat is unacceptable that leaves me with nothingAnd a trade in would be a lot cheaper of a car because I can only get 10k back when I spent over 14k I want an even exchange

All they have promised is not to do this in the futureWhat about me in the presentWhere is "make good" offer to meI have recieved nothing in the mail or via emailPlease advise Thank you Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 11, 2014/06/26) */ To Whom It May Concern: The vehicle that was in the email sent to Mr [redacted] was not advertised in any way as a new vehicleAs a courtesy to Mr [redacted] Volkswagen will extend the sale price of the advertised vehicle to him if he wishes to purchase it still Sincerely [redacted] Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 13, 2014/07/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have the original email and no where on the email did it imply anything other than the vehicle wasn't newEven when linking to the dealerships website did it state the vehicle was anything other than newThere was nothing on the website even dealing with the content of the email offers presentedIf they had did the right thing by providing the customer a link to this so called "flyer" that they said they created it would have cleared up this issue back in MayI think based on Mr [redacted] reply do they still believe they did nothing wrong when in fact they most certainly didEven Volkswagen US headquarters doesn't stand behind what was done by ths dealership, which tells you they are trying to distance themselves from this occurenceI have not seen that the Revdex.com has agreed with the business in what was presented eitherTo that end unless the dealership offers a new Passat at the sale price listed in the email would I consider this issue resolved to my satisfaction
Mike Haggertu VW is the epitome of scammers trying to make a deal in the auto sales industry.
I did research on a vehicle I wanted for over 6months. Used all sorts of apps like True Car and Cars.com as well. Seems as if they use these apps as an extension to lie. When asked about the vehicle that was listed on the app which was an older model BMW on the lot, they instantly did a bait and switch tactic to bring my attention to another newer model BMW that was upwards of about 5-10k than my original investment. They said that the car was not in inventory which was lie and instead was something they did not want to even consider selling. Then why was it listed!? Instead they sold me a BMW with no service warranty didn’t offer one even though it was still within the contracted mileage and based on Illinois law within the years to at least consider the service warranty. Once they ran my credit through 3 financial loan companies and took a substantial negative score to my credit. They finally locked me in upwards of 17k for a 2011 BMW with no service warranty. Upon first inspection of the vehicle there were no major issues just cosmetic wear and tear etc.
They even allowed me to drive the car from the Buick lot to the VW used car sales where they processed my purchase and contract. Found no problems with the vehicle at the time besides no gas on E but that was also how they got me. I brought them a trade-in, as well as paying, $1200 more as a down payment.
So with all of this I got my expensive luxury car with 79k miles and NO SERVICE WARRANTY on a 2011 BMW 5-Series.
First day off the lot taking it home the engine shield underneath my vehicle broke which costed me immediately $219.00, following that a string of problems with the vehicle arose involving the overall maintenance of the vehicle. I brought these problems up to the sales team hoping for a possible credit or reimbursement possible arbitration of the sale. They did not budge to take any ownership of anything after countless attempts to rectify the situation.
The BMW 535i has made me come out of pocket for repairs totalling in the range of $3-4k and it hasn’t been a year.
Extreme Warning:
I WOULD PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM MIKE HAGGERTY VOLKSWAGON AT ALL!
I did all my homework and went to Mike Haggerty Volkswagen to purchase a car. Everything seemed great at first. They were able to get us a lower interest rate than what we were originally approved for. The used car was still under warranty and it drove very nicely. While signing the paper work we agreed that the dealer would fix the loose grill. No problem he said. Guess what??? It's a problem. Bring the car back Saturday they said. Nope, he's not here. Come back Monday. We'll order the part. Can you bring the car in Thursday before 4? Yes. And I did. Sorry. We can't finish it today they say when I get there. Leave the car, it'll be ready by Friday. They call Friday and say. Sorry we ordered the wrong part. The car will be ready Saturday. Saturday I call and ask. What time can I pick up my car? Sorry ma'am, give us till Monday. My husband arrives to pick the car up Monday after I call and they say the car is ready. Guess what??? The car is still not repaired. So I have missed work. He has missed work and the grill is still broken. This is unacceptable! Never again!!!
After the vehicle sale to Ms. she noticed the gas gauge not working on the vehicle. We agreed to fix the problem and also looked at the loose grill pieces on the vehicle. After inspection we noticed the clips broken on the both pieces and are in the process of ordering and replacing at no charge to the customer. We offered a loaner vehicle to the customer. Mike Haggerty VW is taking care of issues with no charge to the customer.
Last year within 2 moth I bought 2 vehicles from Mike Haggerty dealership, one of the deals was that they will provide satellite radio for a year. Same deal for both cars. Unfortunately radio worked only 3 month and it was off. Ive called and spoke to manager numerous times, I've texted them many times, all their answer was that they working on it. My wife was speaking to them either, they also promised they'll fix it same day but never did. Its been almost a year and they never fixed radio on either vehicle.

For the past 5 month's I've dealt with an issue in regards with my car that I bought within 72 hours of being back from the Military. The issue with my car is that the "Check Engine Light" has been activated after having the car for nearly 2 weeks. After taking my car to an actual *** Car Dealer, to having it inspected and paying $135 out of my pocket just to inspect it and having them tell me that the issue was a man made problem which was caused by a previous owner. What was recorded in the invoice after the inspection was " Customer states check engine light is on-check and advise found active *** for bank two cam two phaser actuator circuit open found connector missing and wires shoved into actuator and tapped on. Needs actuator and connector. $358." Overall no one has offered to help me resolve this problem and as a current active duty Military service men, I feel disrespected for being sold not just a car but a car with a problem and would like to solve this problem as soon as possible and without running the risk of my car having another mis-function.
Hello Mr.,
I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with the vehicle. We would like to offer you your $135 that it cost you at the local *** dealer. Please contact Pat *** 708-***-*** for this.

I saw an ad on *** for a Volkswagen CC which included the price . I proceeded to the Haggerty dealership where I started the purchase process. The salesman indicated that the advertised price was a sale price which the *** ad also indicated. I was approved for financing and went from the salesman to the business manager's office. We discussed the interest rate ,optional warranties, and my trade-in. I signed the necessary paperwork and left with my new car. I was reviewing the paperwork when I got home and immediately noticed the price of the car was increased by $1,000.00. I contacted Mr. *** the business manager who was unable to explain the difference in the advertised price and the price I was charged. I was told that the salesman would call me back. I was then advised that there was a destination fee of $750.00 as well as some minor maintenance which included an oil change. I thought this was an act of fraud and false advertising. I called three other dealerships and was advised after some questioning that maintenance prior to a sale is generally the dealerships responsibility and the destination fee is added prior to listing the selling price. No mention was ever made to me of a difference in the advertised price or a destination charge. I am convinced that an act of fraud as well as false advertising was perpetrated on me.
We had Mr. come back on Friday to honor the sales price he seen on a third party website. The sales price was different than the dealership internet price but we refunded the $1,000 extra off the price for him.
