In our opinion after inspection of the flange (attaching part) of the muffler we determined that it was deteriorated to the point where we felt it should be replaced in order to get a proper seal on the exhaust and the repair could be warrantied at a later date if needed for months or 12,miles We apologize if this appeared to be an incorrect assessment of the concern

I believe the company not only owes me an apology,but I want to know why their estimate was $more than what I actually paid at another place to get it done
