The shelter is high quality. The installers did an amazing job. If it was only based on these two aspects I would whole heartedly give a 5 star rating. That being said, scheduling the installation is a nightmare. They seem to be oblivious to the fact that some of their customers have jobs which require advance notice if you will not be there. After several times of requesting time off for the same install, employers tend to stop believing you. We are not the only ones who have had this problem. I encourage you to read their feedback on their Facebook page. Expect a headache if you need more notice than the afternoon before they decide to install it, as well as some borderline hostile remarks in reply if you post about anything you were not happy with.
We gave this customer a “What To Expect Document” for them to read before ever signing up for this purchase. We even asked in that document that if they did not understand the agreement or like the terms, please don’t sign up. These storm shelters require dry yard conditions to install. We can not come if it is wet. This year has been extremely wet. We cover a large area; therefore, when it is wet somewhere it could very well be dry at another. So yes, you might get a call from us to come put your shelter in that very day. You can simply say no, that won’t work or yes, bring it on! Just because our scheduled job is wet does not mean we are going to call it a day. We’re going to try and find one to install. In this case, we had a day given to us by the customer of which they were available, so we came. We were not told “No, do not come”. And we do not need your assistance to do our job.
1. We seem to be oblivious to the fact that some of our customers have jobs that require advance notice to take off....First off, you are not required to be there at the installation. Secondly, as stated above-don’t request off until installation has been confirmed. Thirdly, if you do ask off, be sure your employer knows that it is based on weather. If none of these work for you, don’t sign up.
2. They are not the only ones having this problem.....Keep in mind, “they” this complaining customer, is one of ~550 installations this year and we have had record amount of rainfall which means scheduling has been extremely difficult for us to manage.
3. Expect a headache if you need more notice than the afternoon before they decide to install it.....As if we have a direct line to the Creator of this universe to control who gets rain and who doesn’t. The customer could have simply said “No” tomorrow won’t work. We were give a schedule from the customer on days that worked for them. We came on one of those days, and we called the evening before. The customer was mixed up on days and dates in their own email of dates and times that worked for them.
4. Hostile remarks. I’ll simply say that we take our business seriously and when someone trashes our name and accuses us of wrong doing who has absolutely no idea of what goes into this profession and after we have done all we can do to help them, going as far as granting their request on a day that works for them....well, you’re probably going to get a response from us that you may not like as well.
In closing. I simply ask that if you sign up with us. Read the paperwork. That’s what you sign it for. Weather isn’t always going to cooperate and other things will happen.
Midwest Storm Shelters fast, courteous, always call back when you have questions. Aaron takes care of his customers. If I ever need to imstall another he will be the ONLY person I call. Thanks for a job well done.
Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to pass along “good news”. Often times we only hear reports when things go wrong. We try to make everyone happy and do our best to take care of everyone’s needs. We would be nothing without our customers. Once again thank you so much!
