Midwest Restorations Reviews (%countItem)

I first cam across Midwest Restorations in August when one of their contractors came to my door to offer a free professional opinion of my roof. He found hail damage and offered to help me through a claim with my insurance company. I let the contractor know that I had never had to make a claim on my home before and would like to be walked through the process. After getting my claim through insurance, the contractor never returned my phone calls or answered text messages or emails. I called the owner of the company and she said this particular contractor was new and he shouldn't have ignored communication like he did. She assured me that if I had any questions or concerns, to call her. I was told my roof would be completed within 2 weeks of the claim but every time I spoke with Midwest, I was told "in two weeks". I was also told a 2-3 day period of time when roofers would show up and they came a few days early. Needless to say, I was not prepared to have roofers out that day however I wasn't able to communicate with the non-English speaking crew and it took 3 hours to reach someone from Midwest. My roof was replaced on 9/20 and I was told repeatedly that my gutters would follow 2 weeks later. It is now two months later and I still have no new gutters, although the latest time period I was given was gutters by mid-Nov. I have reached out to the owner on several occasions and am always told a date for work and it never happens. She also called me a "special case" when I questioned what she told me. I questioned what I was told because it was becoming clear she did not follow through with her words. I have found shady business deals through *** in several neighboring states that clearly indicate the morality of this company. I have now asked that they consider their job done so I can find a more reputable company to replace my gutters. When I have voiced my discontent with the owner, her responses have been in a way to displace and project blame back on me. I have requested a copy of their license that gives them the right to advertise that they are "licensed, bonded and insured" and her response was my permit number with the city. To this day, I have not heard a word from my contractor other than 1 email to collect my check. To sum this up, Midwest Restorations promises things they will not do, ignores their customers as long as possible and responds to their customers by projecting blame.

Midwest Restorations Response

This costumer still has an open invoice with our company. After being told she didn't have the funds to cover her roof we put a halt to and further projects on her property.

I have NEVER had worse customer service or care. This company was scheduled to do my roof, gutters, and window coverings over 6 months ago. I have called multiple times and I have politely questioned when they were going to come finish the job that was started. I was hung up on, ignored, lied to, and yelled at. The Owner, *** yelled at me and hung up on me. He said that he has *** in jobs to do and that my job was not at the top of his list. I explained that I had been patient with him and I would like my money back. After telling me I am not his concern because he has a fortune 500 company, and was going to lunch, he told me he would try to get my money back and hung up on me. He refuses to take my calls or complete the job they were paid for. I would not recommend this company to anyone ever! I have never been treated so poorly.

Midwest Restorations Response

The *** insurance paperwork is dated 6/7/2017 at which time it would be 7 to 10 days before they even received the paperwork. So we are 3 months in and she has an open invoice on the work that already has been completed. Second we did the roof by July 1, 20017 within 2 weeks of the homeowner receiving insurance approval. All that is left are window wraps. 6 weeks ago we sent a crew to *** house and she couldn't believe they did not know which ones to do, however our crews are trained to ask the customer which ones they would like replaced. She then sent the crew off her job. She called the office on 9/8/2017 and called our secretary a ***. At which point she was transferred to upper management and continued to insult us. We had enough of the insults at that time. On Monday 9/12/2017 we received a call from her agent stating that *** overreacted and know one should be treated the way she treated us and still would like the window wraps done. We are working with her agent to get the window wraps completed so our company can be paid the money it is owed.

Customer Response

To clarify, the contractors showed up and started doing the wrong windows. I never asked them to leave. I asked them to speak with their boss because the wrong project was being done. They left at their own will. However, the only thing I have ever asked is that the job have a date. I was avoided, misled, and yelled at. I at no point got upset until *** yelled and hung up. My intention was not to rush them or insult them. I initially just wanted an update. I had great experiences with Bobby, the receptionist and ***, the employee who got us set up. However, I am hoping to have a better experience going forward. The work is supposed to still be done at this point. When it is, the can invoice my insurance accordingly. They were waiving deductibles and were so very helpful to start. I have honestly been surprised that it turned so quickly at the hands of ***. I am willing to be patient and work with them. The only thing I ever wanted was good communication.
