I have been a BMO customer for years nowFirst bank I joined since coming to Canada with my family in
For most of my financial history my bank account, Mutual Funds and TFSA investments were all in the goodLately I lost my job and had to eat up my savings to keep up with my growing expensesWhen I called BMO for assistance in getting a modest $overdraft I was refused right away for not having enough net worth
My advice to you...keep your distance from this bank and look for another that will be happy to assist you in bad times as well as in goodBMO is clearly a bank that will be happy to take your money when it can, but will hesitate to lend a hand when you need it the most

I started banking with BMO about years agoIt was never a very stellar experienceThey just held my money and provided me with the bare essentials of bankingThey never went the extra mile or tried to engage customers
I recently got into some financial difficulties that are on their way to being resolvedI contacted the customer service departments times and still received letters and phone calls saying that I never even attempted to contact themEven my family received phone calls saying that I've never contacted themI've had to correct information that was recorded improperly, put up with poor advice (e.g., "borrow money from elsewhere to pay us"), and even the manager I spoke with obviously had never read the information on file
Other than the collections issue, everything is just fineIt very much feels as though you're just a file that they're keepingI've been shopping around for other banks that seem to offer more and who provide a far superior customer servic

My RRSPs are with BMO Nesbitt Burns for years now. I am being told that they can no longer carry my account because it does not move. Because I don't move between different funds they have no earning potentials. I am told that it costs them money if my account is stationary. BMO will no longer accept my monthly deposits and I am to find somebody new. It will definitely not be at BMO.This must be a new type of customer service I never heard of.

[redacted]. They have lost a sizeable amount of our money and it's been over 65 days and counting to try to resolve this. I am still awaiting an apology and the branch to take ownership of there mistake.
