The mechanics at Midas in Crestwood are very vindictive and caniving. I took my 2007 *** that was running pretty good to their shop for a simple oil change and tire rotation special for $19.00, after seeing their TV ad. I was told that the right tire valve stem and TPS was damaged and would cost $139.00 to replace. I made a comment that my tires were inflated and that the mechanic must have damaged the valve stem and TPS when he rotated the tires. There wasn't a TPS light on the dash. The manager told the mechanic and wrote my comment on my receipt. My oil was changed last, then afterwards, I paid and drove off. A few blocks away from Midas, I began to hear a metal rattling sound under the hood near the right tire I was told had the TPS issue. I called Midas and told the manager, Robert about my car's sudden and unusual loud noise under the hood. He told me to bring it back, but I didn't trust them. I suspected the mechanic got angry about my allegation and intentionally caused some sort of problem with my car. My car was down from February to September, after that $19.99 oil change and tire rotation. I thought it was the engine, but it turned out to be the serpentine belt that was cut and the alternator that had damaged bearings. The alternator is on the right side where I was told the TPS was bad. I replaced the alternator and it runs good once again. The retaliation and intentional damage to my car by Midas's mechanic, cost me more than $700, plus loss of use of my car for 7 months. It took months to figure out what was causing the noise and stalling of my car. I was told it was the engine at ***. I informed Midas and they told me they were not going to fix my car. Lucky for my patience, it turned out to be less serious and less expensive than I was told. Buyer Beware of Midas in Crestwood. They may cost you far more than you expect to spend on an oil change and tire rotation. I'm a woman who regret ever going to that auto shop.
