Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/03/17) */
To whom it may concern,
1st and foremost, there was at no point did we deny any potential warranty. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] seems to forget that we are on his side, so slandering us or [redacted]...

at this point, will not be tolerated, in any form.
The customer was given all warranty information before he chose to purchase and install the engine himself. The warranty on over the counter parts purchases are 180days. Mr. [redacted] is over the 180 days, but [redacted] is willing to look at the cause and consider possible warranty. If the part fails within this time frame, due to a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT, the part only, would be replaced under [redacted] parts warranty (conditions and processes must be followed to be eligible) There warranty will not cover the cost of labor, nor sequential parts. This is [redacted]'s warranty, not ours, so it is there process that must be followed.
Mr. [redacted] was given the option to have us take his engine out (at his cost, as we did not install it originally), or take the engine out and bring it in himself, for warranty evaluation. The choice was his. [redacted] has been notified in regards to Mr. [redacted]'s requests, and there response was simple. There must be a inspection done on the part by us to determine the cause of failure, and all receipts for the replacement of the appropriate parts during the installation of the engine, must be provided. If deemed to be a failure due to a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT, we can approach them for warranty consideration. If it is deemed to be a failure due to incorrect installation process or abuse, which may include him running the car out of oil, (which he did not tell anybody until this complaint was made) there will be no warranty consideration on this engine. This is a very reasonable and legitimate request from [redacted], and part of their policies and procedures. And again, I must reiterate, that at no point did we ever "try to void warranty".
Also, Mr. [redacted] seems to forget that they chose to reuse many old parts and gaskets, instead of replacing them with new ones, and this is not a common, nor acceptable practice in the automotive repair business. He chose to use the internet as his guide, not the recommendations of Subaru Dealers.
Mr. [redacted] has been made aware of all this, and has chosen to ignore [redacted] simple requests.
At no point did Mr. [redacted] attempt to contact myself, verbally or otherwise, to discuss this matter further.
Please note, due to [redacted] involvement in this matter, this is the one and only response that will be given in regards to this. No further communication will take place on my part, as we and [redacted], have been more than accommodating to Mr. [redacted] in regards to this matter. He is not cooperating for his own possible benefit.
Respectfully,
Doug K[redacted]
