Review: On 11/6/13, upon checkout, I received a "50% off any one regular price item" coupon valid 11/10/2013-11/14/2013. On 11.14.13 I visited the same store (#1581, PITT-WATERFRONT) to redeem the coupon on a "Smash" book which has a regular price of $19.99. When the sales associate rang up the order, she said the book was on sale and the coupon was not valid. I explained to her that no shelf tags were present anywhere near the area of where the book was, and I had no indication the product was "on sale." I explained to her, if the shelf tag does not indicate a sale, and the POS system does, that is False Advertising. She said she is not responsible for placing tags on shelves. I told her it doesn't matter, the store and Company can be held liable for False Advertising. She said she would have her manager take care of the tag. If the supposed "sale" began on 11/10/2013, and this was four days later, what is the point? Today I reviewed the weekly ad to see if the particular Smash book was on sale, and it is still not clear to me if it really was. I don't believe it is because the "scrapbooks" are indicated at 40% off and the price I paid for the book is not 40% off. Michael's owes me $5.00 for their False Advertising mistake. Please contact me to correct this.
