In Nov 2017, I went to see Dr. K regarding the need for a full denture on the bottom. I was give a invoice that shows I paid in full. I advised the office staff that I wanted to I wanted to pay cash for everything so I would not have to worry about any future bill. The invoice states, payment is due at the time of service. I paid cash in full and Dr. K preformed the needed procedure. As 2018 came, there was need to work on the denture to make a better fit. I was told that there would probably be a need for a soft realign. I said ok and when Dr. K stated he was going to the soft realign in May, I agreed. I wanted the denture to fit right. Per their invoice policy, all work must be paid up front. So when Dr. Kim advised of the need for the soft realign, I was already paid in full. Nobody advised me before the procedure in May 2018, that there was another $285.00 that I must pay. I went in, had the realign done and out the door I went. The denture still does not fit right however Dr. K had been working with me so I did not have any worries. Now in July, they are sending me a bill for $285.00. How can they charge this when I was paid in full? I wanted to give Dr. K the option to make this right. I have went by the office however, they will not do the right thing and waive the fee. I understand that there was a service provided however when I have a paid in full invoice. When their own policy states ALL work must be paid up front, how can they send me a bill after the fact. This is shady business practice and I want this issue resolved. If they would have stated before the realign there was a NEW charge, we would have discussed and resolved prior to the procedure. The denture still does not fit right however I am afraid to go back and then get another bill stating I owe more money.
Treatment for a denture and extractions were paid for up front because Dr K had done those procedures. But when looking back at the treatment plan which totaled $2985.00, the reline is also included but had not completed at the time of the extractions and the denture delivery, therefore, was not charged the extra $285 at that time. I am sorry if you felt you had paid in full for the whole treatment plan from the beginning, but we do not collect for treatment we had not completed. If there was a misunderstanding, I apologize and will waive the $285. Please do not hesitate to come back if the denture is not fitting right. If you have anymore questions, please call 503.873.3530.
