This is what happened to me this week. A guy named David gave me a quote to prune limbs for a big tree in my backyard on May 22, 2017. The quote price is reasonable. Two parts, 1) raise mulberry in bach on customers side and 2) and prune 3 falling limbs above and over the wire. I have this contract on my hand. Three weeks late, I receive a call from him. He said he can do today. I said OK and will wait him at my house. Between these three weeks. no communication at all. That's fine. It is good to know they are coming. Then, during the noon time, three guys came to work on it. However, they were told that they only worked on these very low-level small limbs (Part I,), not including Part II. I am a little surprised. then I said that's not right. I can talk to your boss. The guy called his boss, and seems to be fine with Part II. After 30 minutes, they finished Part I and went to lunch. , half an hour late, they came back and started to work on the Part II. Then, I left to work. one hour late, I receive a call from David/Dave. He was so rude said I took advantage of his workers and just hung over the phone. I did not even have time to explain the contract. I did not understand that. The contract said the work should include two parts. If the contract only contains Part I (just 4 or 5 small limbs at very low-level on my side), which only takes 25- 30 minutes work. Would it cost me $375 for half-an-hour job? This is ridiculous. Right now, he refused to clean the yards and just left the part at my backyard. This is what happened to me today.
I attached my contract photo for evidence. The first part is to raise mulberry in bach on customers side (there are 4 or 5 small branches on my side) and prune 3 low hanging limbs above over wire.
IMHO, I guess that's fine to have different views for a contract three weeks late. Even he may not remember correctly, since the job was quoted three weeks ago. He can not just hang over phone and do not allow customers to explain.
This was a very simple case of a man adding on work and not wanting to pay for it. I am sorry that he had to wait three weeks but we were swamped. If he had a problem with one of our salesman, a call to his supervisor
at the office would have warranted an immediate response. We had no idea of the situation until the complaint was filed.
Today I received the response from the business as follows:
"

Here is my new response.
Let me explain this clearly again.
1) if it was me, who added the work later, Then, basically, the 25-30 minutes work (no need to use ladder, just to use a saw to cut lower level small limbs) would cost me $375 ? Are you serious?
2) Again, the part 2 was written in the original quote paper. There was no need to argue about this. The only issue is which three limbs they want to cut over the wires. That's the place we may have different opinions. What they actually did is three limbs + a very very small branch close to one of three limbs.(so that's what I ask and that's 3-5 minutes work) so basically, if I was blamed for adding work, that's this 3-5 minutes work.
3) Even we have some different views for the part II, we indeed can communicate with each other. However, Did the guy try to communicate with me at all? NO. The guy called me, and started to yelled at me on the phone, and threatened me to leave all garbage on the ground. so under such circumstance, do you expect me to call you guys again to communicate with this ? No way. By the way, their phone line is always going to the voicemail. How can I communicate with his supervisor? You have to wait them to call you back.
