Review: Mexico Viejo has been one of my favorite places to take people to on Smith Mountain Lake for many years. There was a change in ownership around the first of the year. We have been to Mexico Viejo maybe a dozen times since the change in ownership. I think the food is actually better. However, I was advised recently by a friend to check my bill against the pricing in the menu. I did that a month ago. To my surprise, my bill reflected approximately $1 more per item than what was on their menu. When I spoke to the manager, he told me the menu's did not reflect the current prices and they were waiting on new menus . My friend told me that he had confronted the manager several months ago and was told the same thing. Today we went back to Mexico Viejo and encountered the same thing. One entree was actually almost $2 more than advertised. I spoke to the assistant manager and got the same story I got a month ago. I told the assistant manager as I did the manager a month ago that I did not like dishonesty. Advertising one price and charging a higher price on the bill without informing the customer is very dishonest and I believe illegal. The assistant manager today told me that many customers did not seem to mind. My guess is that they do not know as I did for the first visits we made earlier this year. He also told me I did not have to come back. He told me the owner of Mexico Viejo was aware of the situation. I do not mind a reasonable price increase, but I do not like being deceived. Before I was aware of the price deceit, I estimate that we had taken 20 people to Mexico Viejo this year. By my estimation, we were overcharged approximate $40. I believe what they are doing is illegal.Desired Settlement: Correct pricing in menu or correct bills which reflect menu prices.A posted apology on the restaurant's door for previous misleading pricing.
